A cold blast of icy wind hit my face as Lachlan and I entered the mall. The various smells of food coming from the food court made us hungry. I glanced at Lachlan for a moment before grinning like an idiot and raced away.

The shouts of some people were drowned away and the only one I heard was Lachlan. I looked back for a moment to see him with an annoyed look on his face as he tried to catch up. He was the basketball team star, but running was never his best ability.

I finally reached the small, yet still busy stand of McDonalds or as Lachlan calls it, Maccas. I remembered taking him here for the first and calling bullshit on the name (Until we made a bet which I lost horribly).

"Dammit!" He laughed, reaching me.

"What can I say? You're just slow." I said, giving him a smug smile.

"Whatever helps you sleep at night, babe." He laughs jokingly.

"Tch, you wish I was your babe." I grinned, flipping him off.

With a mock offended look, he grabbed my wrist and pulled me up to the open cashier. He stared at us weirdly, but we paid no mind and simply ordered our food. It came to us quicker than usual and we walked around trying to find a seat.

We finally found one and took a seat before starting to eat our food.

"So you're telling me, Vi is dating Vikk?" Lachlan said, wide-eyed.

"That's what she said to some of the juvenile brats and y'know, word spreads fast."

"Damn, it's been only a week or two. Vi is either dumb or Vikk has that charm."

"I think it's obvious which one it is." I laughed.

"Yeah, I know right!" Lachlan grinned.

"Y'know, It's nice that we've been hanging out once again ever since that dude. What was his name again?"

"God, X, you don't even remember his name," he rolled his eyes. "It was Mitch, by the way."

"Oh yeah, him. I didn't know why I went with him." I shrugged.

Lachlan rolls his eyes once more before standing up to throw his trash. The smile on my face slipped for a moment as a look of sadness obviously replaced it. It was obvious why I went out with him.

But Lachlan was oblivious.
