I spit out my last piece of gum onto the cement, Lachlan doing the same after me. Behind us was the 'couple' of Vikk and Vi, a pairing with a crappy name. It's been a week since our first encounter with Vikk and he was laid-back most of the time. The annoying thing was that Vienna followed him everywhere.
She'd constantly complain about hanging out with us, but I would always hear Vikk telling her off and to 'just leave if you didn't enjoy their presence'.
It made me grin a little.
"So, where are we going and why?" Lachlan asked, giving me a bored look. I just shrugged before giving an innocent smile.
"Whatever it is, it's probably stupid as her." I heard Vi say.
"I'm in all Honors classes, dumb one." I retorted, looking back at her.
"Just because we look different doesn't mean we're shitty. I'm the star of the basketball team." Lachlan added.
"Whatever." Lachlan and I glanced at each other, a smirk on both of our faces. We fist bumped and I let out a quiet laugh.
"Ugh, I'm done with you all." Vi muttered. I heard Vikk yelp and I mentally danced out of happiness.
With just the two of us left, we just walked around, pointing out stupid things now and then. It reminded me of when we were kids, just 14 years young. Just small moments like these made me happy.
And Lachlan made me happiest.
