Chapter 2

I didn't sleep the whole night.I was just there at my bedroom, staring at the ceiling, thinking of the Sarah, thinking of my fate, my destiny, as a time handler, as a vampire.I just can't stop asking, why me?Why couldn't it just be the guy from the other side of the road?Or why not someone who is willing to accept everything?Why me?

I didn't even try to sleep, because I know that this is either my last night as a normal human being, or my last night of existence in the world.I have to choose between my life and someone else.I have to choose between Sarah and me.

Well, come to think of it, I' just choosing between my conscience and my happiness.If I bite her, I would live forever and I would have the chance to make her mine.but if I do that, I'll be sharing this curse with her.We'll be immortal yes, but soulless.We won't need to promise til death do us part.But we will be the reason of other people's death.

The sun is already shining and it's reminding me of what i have to do.In less than 24 hours, I'll have to choose my fate.

How will i do it?Will I tell her or not?Maybe not.If she gets frightened i won't be able to bite her.I'll curse my self for even planning to turn her into one of us.And besides, she'll hate me.She will be afraid.

She doesn't have to know.I'll just bite her, let her turn into one of us, then I'll tell her that we're the same.I'll be there for her to comfort her and to show her that she's not alone.Then I'll tell her that I love her.I'll tell her that she can be my queen since I will lead the family.

Now I've made up my mind.She will be one of us.We will be happy.

I'll plan what to do.I'll ask her out.We'll enjoy our last day of being humans.We'll enjoy this day together.Yes, that's right.Then we'll go to all the places that we love.We'll eat in all the food stalls at the mall.We'll play all the games in the arcade.We'll be happy as humans for one last time.Then, I'll ask her to go home at eleven o' clock.I'll bring her home, but before she enters her house, I'll attack her.Then I'll make her fall asleep.And she'll wake up as one of us.Yes, she'll be one of us.And soon she'll be mine...

I rushed to the bath room and took a bath.Then i went downstairs and asked for money.They were silent but their eyes were asking why.But still, they gave me money.

I knocked on the door.Mr. Tadeo opened it.He is Sarah's father.

"Oh James, are you looking for Sarah?She's at the garden.Oh sorry but I have to go.Do you need something else?"He said.

"Uhm, I was just wondering sir, if, uhm, ....if I can ask Sarah to come with me.We'll just,.."

"That would be fine.But ask her first.Okay I really have to go.Bye James."Then he left in a hurry.

This is great.Everything is going smoothly.I went to the garden to find Sarah.I saw her pulling some weeds from the flower bed.

"Hey Sarah!"

"Awww!!!"She pricked her finger on a thorn from a rose.

"Now look.You shouldn't come into people's houses and just surprise them like that."she said.

"Come on, it's not that bad.Let me see"

As soon as smelled the blood on her finger, something strange ran inside of me.I felt an urge to bite her now.But I must not.I'll wait til night comes.

"So, what brought you here huh?Make sure its good."she asked.

"Wanna go out?"

"Are you kidding me?I'd love to!Wait, To whom or to what do i owe this once-in-a-lifetime experience that you are actually going to treat me out, huh?"

"I didn't say I'll treat you,but, okay I will.Just thank my parents.They gave me money today."I replied.

"Okay, I'll just get dressed."

She came back wearing a simple dress.Her hair was tied in a ribbon and she was wearing a pair of flats.She really look nice.

We didn't waste time.We went to the mall and watched movies, we ate in almost every food stall, and we had a picture.Good thing that I'm not yet a real vampire, or else my picture won't be seen in the photo.My first and last photo.

After going around so many times, we decided to go to the park.we played at the children's playground and laughed a lot.

We went to different places.Ate so many different food.Until it was already dark.We strolled at the park.

I looked at my watch.Its almost eleven.

"Let's go home.It's already late."I said.

"Okay then.You sure you don't want to go somewhere else?"she asked, as though she's waiting for me to bring her somewhere else.

"I'm tired.Besides, your parents must be looking for you.I must bring you back now."

She just shrugged.And we started walking home.I accompanied her only to their gate.

"Why don't you come in?"she asked.

"No thanks.Seems like your parents are already asleep.Good night!"

I started walking away, waiting for her to turn her back.She did, and swiftly, I attacked.I covered her mouth to prevent her from screaming.As her neck comes near my mouth, I smelled her blood.I didn't stop myself form biting her, sucking her blood.When I was done, she fell lifeless on the ground.I ran away and came back, acting as though I don't know about anything that happened.I screamed for help.

"Help!Sarah was attacked!Help!"

I even cried.Her parents and mine came out.Even our neighbors.Everyone was worried.My mother cried.She knew it was me.I didn't have to tell her.

They saw the mark on her neck.

"There's a vampire living here!"shouted one.

"How could that happen?!"asked some.

"Let's all calm down.There are no vampires.Maybe it was just a coincident that she has wounds in her neck.Let's just look for the attacker."my father shouted.He's trying to divert their attention so that they won't suspect us.

"She had allergies a while ago.She scratched it so maybe that's reason."I said.They believed me.

After some time looking for nothing, the people decided to go home.

At last, its done.I'll just have to wait for her to wake up.I'll just have to wait for her to become a vampire.
