Chapter 4

I'm getting depressed in this environment.I can't stand this anymore.I need a break.

I went to Tovi and asked if I can have a vacation.

"Ask your grandparents.They might let you."

I went to the room at the end of the hallway.Halfway there I heard screams.I hurried, thinking that someone might be in trouble.Then suddenly, there was silence.I felt more frightened.What could have happened?

When I reached the room, I rushed in, only to find out that someone died.No, someone was killed.They killed the girl.They drank her blood.But they didn't let her live.They tore her into pieces.I was shocked.For the first time, I saw pieces of human body parts, without blood.It was slowly turning white.Then into ashes.

"What happened here?"I asked.

"So, the heir is here.Haven't you seen a dead body before?Oh!I forgot.You are a coward.Can't kill, can't drink.First is last.Huh!Can't believe that I'll be following you someday."Jb said.He was standing in the middle of the room.Beside the body turning into ashes.With blood in his mouth.I can smell it.

"Don't start Jb.I don't want any fights."

"Of course you don't coward!You don't stand a chance against me.You're nothing but a body and a name, without the spirit of a true vampire.You can't even bite!You don't have the strength.You don't stand a chance against me.Especially now that I just fueled up."

Anger rushed to my brain.I was furious with anger with every insult that he said.Not knowingly, I suddenly ran towards him and punched him on the face.He was thrown by the impact.I was shocked.I can't believe I did that.The little vamps there was murmuring, "now its a war."

I was thinking of what they said when suddenly, something hit me on the face.I fell down on the floor.Then I saw Jb in front of me.He picked me up and hit me hard on the stomach.I crashed to the wall.Pieces of concrete fell down on my feet as I felt the roughness of the wall behind my back.But I was still alive.Then I saw Jb rushing towards me.Quickly, I stood and ran towards him, too.We hit each other.It was harsh but he didn't seem to be hurt.I was hurt.I know it.But it didn't seem to be that much.

We continued to fight until my grandparents walked in from behind.

"Stop it now!!!"

Jb stopped.I didn't want to but I also did.

"Ten lashes for both of you!"

A big man, not really looking like a vampire, but more of a frankenstein, but still with no blood, came out with a lasso.Jb kneeled down.

"But he started it!"I protested.

"Silence!!It doesn't matter who started it.What matters is that both of you made trouble in the mansion!!"

I wanted to refuse but I taught, this is their place, not mine.They are the rules.So I kneeled down and accepted the ten lashes.Now that hurts.It left marks on my skin.It lasted three days that's why my vacation was postponed.I hated it.All I could see was vampires.Bloodless, soulless, cold vampires.

As I wandered off, I discovered that they are keeping ten families that will produce their "food".These families were sold slaves during the early times.They are killed once their blood is already taken.That's how they keep the population in only ten families.Once, they offered me a virgin maiden from one of the families.They said I could have her and I could do anything to her.I told them to keep her for me until I turn twenty.But I just wanted to save her.

As the three, long days passed by, I started to worry about Sarah.What could be her condition now?Does she already know that she's one of us?I don't know.I definitely don't know.
