Introduction

Love.A very broad word that is very hard to explain.It's something that no one can escape.

But what if you were given a chance to make her yours, but that chance would change her, or even destroy her forever, would you take the risk?...

Or would you rather stay in the shadows and watch her fall for someone else?

Prologue

I am James De Guzman, a pure blooded vampire.They say that I am one of the most gifted vamps, not only in my generation, but in the whole history of our kind.But even if my parents are some of the pure vampires, they tried to save me from this curse.The curse of being a soulless zombie.A body without a soul.An identity without death.

But sadly, they failed.They failed to pull me away from, my destiny.They failed to save me from being a vampire.Well, what can they do?I am their son.The tree is the fruit.A vampire couple can never have a human child.

Although my fangs had already shown itself when i was born, they still tried to hide my true identity from me.They raised me up as an ordinary human boy.Until the day before my fifteenth birthday, when my grandparents suddenly arrived at our home and reminded my parents about a certain truth about being a vampire.

They said that at my fifteenth birthday, I must have my first taste of blood, or else, it would end my existence to the world.

I can still remember how my mother cried......

Chapter 1

"We can't let him be one of us," she said.

"Don't be ridiculous Margaret,both of you are pure blooded vampires.A royal and pure kind of vampire.Why did you even think that your child, the time handler, can escape his destiny, his identity, of being a vampire?"

My mother gave a wild cry.I didn't hear the next conversations because i was already numb and shocked of what I've heard.I am a vampire.A royal and pure kind.A soulless zombie.An immortal monster.But then, something confused me.

"He can't handle the responsibility of being the time handler.We can't let anyone know of this.They'll hunt him down.They'll use him."

That's what my father said.Time handler.What does that mean?Hunt me down.Why?I can't stop myself from asking these questions, and to my surprise, I unconsciously entered the room and uttered these questions.

"Answer me!What am I?What are you talking about?What do you mean that I'm a vampire time handler or whatsoever?Answer me!"

My mother cried and took me to her arms.She was apologizing.Then she sent my grandparents away.She shooed them away.

My father just stood still, waiting for my mothers actions.Waiting for her explanations.

I felt as though I'm something that was covered with lies then suddenly stripped away of every single thing that I know about myself.I felt like a total stranger.

They told me the whole story.That my family is a pure and royal line of vampires.That gifted vampires mostly come from our clan.That i was destined to be the time handler,the leader of our family.

My parents opposed the prophecy and left the family to keep me away from my destiny, but they forgot that a pure blooded vampire must get his first taste of blood before the proper age, or he will die.You might be wondering why they are so afraid to die while vampires are soulless.Its because The body will not decompose.It will vanish.And every single detail about him will vanish with it.

And that was the problem.Tomorrow is my fifteenth birthday.The day that I will come to the right age.The day when I must bite somebody and turn him into one of us.Or maybe even kill him.

The idea of sharing the curse was very painful for me.Until my father suddenly spoke.

"A vampire cannot love a woman.If you will choose your victim, it would be better to choose the one you love."

He was talking about Sarah, my childhood crush and first love.The sweetest little angel that I've seen in my life.Or probably the only angel of my life.

But how can I let her suffer with me?How can i turn my one and only love into a soulless zombie?An immortal monster?A vampire?
