Arcadia
She was all washed up and was looking forward to her "Chats" with the psychiatrist. It wasn't really a chat, since she didn't talk. More of a form of entertainment for her, watching the doctor try and crack her. Every twice a week, she met with Dr.Kason who was assigned to her. To supposedly try and make her sane again.
As she was being escorted to the doctors office, she thought of Julian. What was his story? He didn't seem dangerous. He seemed happy, cheery and everything that did not belong in the asylum. Was he a mistake, like her? If so she felt bad and then laughed out loud. The escort shot her a nasty look and she laughed again. Arcadia didn't give a crap of what people thought anymore. Hell, she was in an asylum. How much worse can it get.
Her escort pushed her in the office and she saw Dr.Kason. She gave him a nod and he smiled at her. Arcadia actually liked her doctor a lot. He was very patient. He treated her like a human being and not like an animal. He told her stories of his life which she found cute.
"Arcadia. How are you today? My day has been good so far. Did you know that today my son said his first word? He said papa, and not mama! I was so proud today" He told her and she smiled, a true smile. That was really adorable. She leaned back against her chair and listened along.
It seemed like her chats with her doctor always went by too fast. Before she knew it, she was being dragged back to her cell. Once Arcadia was back, she cracked her neck and looked at Julian who was rocking back and forth. Oh poor boy. What would he have been doing right now if he wasn't stuck with her,
Julian looked up at her and grinned his cute boyish smile at her.
"I missed you" He said and proceeded to talk about his boring day. About how he slipped and fell in the shower. It made her laugh. Arcadia loved when people told her stories. It was very nice. He seemed pleased when she laughed.
Arcadia read somewhere that laughter was the best medicine and sometimes she could see how. She sat on Julian's cot and listened to his day.
