"Some people think my father was a spy, because of working for that government agency in Vietnam, but he can't find his car keys, much less keep a national secret." - Lauren Graham

“So, sounds like this is gonna be an interesting summer” Jess commented as we turned the page and saw a map of the camp and the area around it.

“Hell yeah!” Lissa laughed.

“Ok, well why don’t we go grab the keys and figure out a hiding spot?” Cami suggested practically.

“Sure thing” I said, getting up and making my way down towards the kitchen, hoping that the others were following.

When I reached the freezer I opened it and saw 5 keys. 4 of them were the same colours as the rooms and the 5th was green.

“So, I bags the gold one” I said as a picked up the freezing keys.

“The pink one is mine!!” Jess said snatching the pink one.

“Look, why don’t we just take the key that matches our room colour, that way if one is lost, we know who it belongs to because it will match rooms” Lissa suggested sensibly.

“Smart girl” Cami commented as she took her key. “Where should we hide the green one?”

We thought about it for a couple of seconds before Lissa came up with another smart idea.

“Let’s hide it on Jasmyn’s windowsill? It’s the last place someone else would look!”

“Wow, two smart ideas in the last 2 minutes” Jess teased.

“Yeah, and here I was thinking that you were just some stupid cheerleader chick” I said.

“You guys are so mean!!!” Lissa said pretending to be offended. “You forgot to mention that I’m a blonde cheerleader chick with an epic sense of fashion.” She laughed.

“What time is now?” Cami asked once we had finally stopped laughing.

“”Um, 5.45” I said checking my iPhone. “Why?”

“I was just thinking about what we should do tonight, that’s all” she replied.

“Oh, ok, why don’t we all just fix up our rooms or whatever until dinner, and we can go together.” Jess suggested sensibly.

“Sure thing babe, what time do you want dinner?” Lissa said getting up.

“Hmm, I dunno, maybe 6.30ish?” Jess asked looking at us.

“Sounds good to me” I said and headed towards my room.

As soon as I was inside I went to my bed and lay down on it. Damn it was comfy!

The next thing I knew Jess was jumping on my bed shouting at me to get up.

“Get up you lazy slob!” she yelled, jumping higher with every word. “Actually, I can’t really call you a slob, I mean look at you!!! Why is it that some people look really pretty as soon as they wake up? No fair!” she screeched.

“Ok, how much Mother did you just drink?” I asked joking as I rubbed my eyes and sat up.

“Funny.” She laughed, “you have15 minutes until we leave” she called exiting the room.

Getting up I quickly changed into a simple yellow summer dress with matching flats, and after applying some mascara and lip gloss, I grabbed my journal and wrote the fake entry for my parents.

Why write a fake journal? Well they would enjoy it way too much if they found out that I thought this place was awesome. I had not wanted to come, and told them that I was going to hate every moment of it.

Just as I was finishing up Jess banged open my door.

“Time to go.” She told me.

“Alright” I said putting away my diary.

“What’s that?” Jess asked curiously.

“Fake journal for my parents” I told her with a sigh.

“You too?” she asked sympathetically. “My parents think that I hate this place, but it’s actually pretty cool.” She told me as we made our way to the living room where the others were waiting.

“Yeah, something like that,” I sighed. “Let’s go to dinner”
