I went inside the dining hall and grabbed a red hoodie and went looking for a pair of red Converse in my size.
After putting the hoodie on over my top, I took off my shoes and put them in a corner and shoved the Converse onto my feet. Yay, a perfect fit!!!
I went outside and met up with the rest of my team. We spent the next 5 minutes waiting for everyone else to be ready.
The teams were not very large; there were roughly 50 people in each.
As I looked around at my "team" I noticed that it was mostly guys. I sighed and looked at the girls. Now I really wish that I hadn't. I mean it was a fatal hit to my already fragile self-esteem.
They were all so pretty! Ok, maybe not all of them. Some of the girls looked naturally pretty, while the rest relied on make-up, slutty clothes and boob jobs to make themselves look "more appealing"
"Alrighty, so now that everyone is ready, let’s go!!!" Sarah yelled. "I hope that everyone has heard the rules." We all had.
As everyone started walking into the area that was marked 'Restricted' on our maps Sarah continued. "You must not come here unless there is 1 or more councillor with you. It is dangerous! It might sound ridiculous at the moment, but believe me, you don't want to be out here on your own."
Time passed quickly, and before I knew it my team had won the game. As we all walked back to our cabins I found myself falling further and further behind until the others were all out of sight and hearing distance.
"Ouch!" I muttered as I fell over. "Damn it!"
Suddenly I felt a searing pain in my ankle. I tried to move it and found that it hurt to even poke it.
I sat up carefully, trying not to move my ankle and make it any worse.
"Hello? Can anyone hear me?" I yelled, in the hope that there was anyone around.
I sat there for 20 minutes, just yelling out and hoping that someone would notice that I wasn't back yet.
Finally, when I was so scared that even the sound of my own breathing scared the living crap out of my me, I heard footsteps coming towards me.
"Hey, hello! Please, someone!" I yelled.
"I'm coming!" a male yelled back. "Are you injured? Can you move by yourself?"
By this time I could see the light from a torch moving as the person came swiftly towards me.
"I've hurt my ankle. I might be able to walk with help, but not on my..." I stopped speaking as the saw the face of my knight in shining armour.
My saviour was, to put it in 1 word, hot with a capital H.
He had brown hair that was slightly curly, blue eyes that were so deep I felt like I was drowning in them. He was wearing a red jumper, red Converse All Stars and black jeans.
"Hey. Are you ok?" he asked as he helped me walk towards camp. "What happened?"
"Yeah, I should be fine, I wasn't watching where I was going and I fell. “I said, blushing at my stupidity.”I'm Jasmyn by the way."
"Jack."
When we finally reached camp I heaved a sigh in relief.
"Are you really that glad to be rid of me? “Jack asked, pretending to be insulted.
"Yep, sure am!" I laughed. "Nah, my leg is just really sore. Can you please help me over to my cabin? It's number 1."
"Yes ma’am!"
Jack helped me over towards my cabin and up the stairs. When we reached the door Jack turned to face me. "Will you be alright now?" he asked, concern showing in his face.
"Yeah, thanks so much!" I smiled at him.
"Ok, well I guess I'll see you around. Good night!" Jack said as he walked down the steps.
"Night!" I turned to open the door.
Just as I was turning the handle it burst open and Jess stood facing me with a very disgruntled expression on her face.
"Where the hell have you been!?!" she yelled. "Do you have any idea how worried we've been?"
"I'm sorry! I fell over and hurt myself and then Jack came and saved me." I said as I limped inside.
"Who's Jack?" she asked as we went over to the couches. "Is he cute?"
"Um, he's this guy who was coming back or something and helped me. And yes, he is cute!" I laughed.
"So, do you think that you're gonna see him again?" Jess was acting as though because he was cute it was ok for me to have missing.
"Um, I hope so, but I don't know." I yawned. "I'm tired, so yeah. I might go to bed."
"Oh, yeah, go to bed, we don't want you to have huge bags under your eyes! You might see Jack again tomorrow!!!" She pulled me off the couch and dragged me down the hall.
----
The next thing I knew Cami was shaking me awake.
"We're leaving in 10 minutes." she told me. "I sure hope this guy is cute... I mean you look absolutely exhausted!"
"I am!" I groaned. "But it was totally worth it! How about I meet you guys up there?"
"Sure thing babe!" Cami smiled as she left the room.
I got up and walked over to my wardrobe, hoping to find something nice to wear. Looking through my wardrobe I decided that when we went food shopping I was totally going to go clothes shopping too.
After finally choosing a white tank top, denim jeans and white flats I went and climbed into the shower, sighing and the hot water hit my body.
Once I had finished and dried myself I got dressed and faced the mirror. Hmm, what to do with my hair. I decided to leave it out so that it would dry into its natural curls and added mascara and blue eye-liner.
What can I say? If there's a hot guy, I make the effort.
Am I shallow? Hell yeah.
Do I give a damn? Nope.
When I was pleased with my appearance I grabbed my key and left, locking the door behind me. As I walked down the steps I heard a door closing behind me.
I turned around and saw Jack exiting the cabin next to mine.
"Hey Jas!" he called when he saw me. "Can I walk with you?"
"Sure thing." I smiled
Yes! Today was going to be an amazing day!!!
