It's late at night and Natasha is walking outside alone. Rain is starting to drizzle down and there are what feels like thousands of thoughts shooting in and out of her head on endless loop.
'What is going on? Why am I feeling this way? I have a good life, lots of friends and family, friends I consider family. I am able to do what I love most and able to make a living out of it, be anyone I want to as soon as those cameras start rolling. I help people all over the globe just by placing one simple message on Twitter or Instagram. And yet here I am walking around in the dark and the rain feeling.. lost.'
After a while she finds herself standing in front of an apartment building. Not really sure why she went here she looks to her side, contemplating if maybe she should just go home. 'Why the fuck am I here? Great idea! Let's annoy other people in the middle of the freaking night with your midnight crisis. Maybe they can tell why you are feeling like this.'
She goes to sit down on the steps of the apartment building, resting her arms on her thighs and her head on her hands. Doesn't really matter that the steps were wet, she was completely soaked by the rain already.
Her face was almost emotionless when she decides to pull out her phone and starts to go through some of the photos. She stops when she sees one particular photo, making the corner of her mouth turn up for a moment. 'She can always make me smile, even when she's not here. The only thing I have to do is just look at a picture of that dork with me.' A chuckle escaped her mouth leaving a little smile on her face as she puts her phone back into her pocket. But as fast as that smile was there, the faster it was gone. She stands up and and takes a deep breath. She wanted to walk away but finds herself turning around and standing in front of the intercom holding up her hand, aiming her finger for one particular button. Hearing the intercom buzz after pushing the button a wave of fear runs through her body, she freezes. 'Why the fuck did I do this?! It's 3 o'clock in the morning! I should just go.. yeah.' She was about to walk, maybe even run away when she hears a voice coming through the intercom.
"Natasha?! Is everything okay?" The sleepy but concerned voice answers.
'Shit.. Video intercom.' "Uh.. Yeah." She doesn't know what else to say. Nothing comes to mind.
"Are you sure?" She started to look around not giving her an answer. "I'm buzzing you in okay?" she says with a concerned voice.
She hears the buzzer going off and reluctantly pushes open the main door and proceeds to walk toward to the elevator pressing the button to call it down. Her mind keeps repeating the same question over and over as she steps into the elevator pressing the floor button. 'What the fuck am I doing here?!' The doors closed and the elevator started to move up. As the elevator gets closer to the designated floor she let's out a big breath. 'I just need to see her, that's all.' She hears the ding and and as soon as the doors open up she walks out of the elevator to see her waiting for her in the hallway. 'Elise.'
'Elise.' In her mind she sighs with relief and all she wants to do is disappear into one of her warm hugs and never let go. But in reality the corners of her mouth only seems to move millimeters as she steps closer to her. 'What are you doing? Seriously.. you should go! Tell her you were sleepwalking or something.. for kilometers on end.. you are a heavy sleeper.. sometimes, it could work!'
"Nat! What is going on? Are you okay?" she says as she is watching Natasha walk toward her. She is shocked seeing Natasha's expression on her face, just a small smile as acknowledgement. She meets her halfway giving her a hug, a hug in which Natasha almost seems to melt away, an instant feeling of being safe and not wanting to let go. "My god.. You're soaking wet! How long have you been out there?" she says as she pulls out of the hug. She looks at Natasha but it doesn't really seem to register with her so she takes her by her hand and guides her inside of her apartment. "Come inside. I don't know what's going on but you're shivering! You are going to take a shower and warm up before you catch a cold. Just go into the bathroom and I'll leave some clothes for you by the door okay?"
