After brushing her teeth and getting everything ready to go sleep on the couch she lies down. But even though she is so tired she can't seem to fall asleep. Eyes keep opening up to watch the shadows dancing around on the ceiling as faint lights of cars passing by on the streets a couple of floors down reach up.
She goes to sit up in the couch staring out in front of her. She takes a deep breath and looks towards Elise her bedroom door, which was left open a little bit. The words which she had said right before she disappeared behind that same door keep making their way back into her mind.
Her cheeks are puffy as she exhales, slowly letting out the air in her lungs and looks back up to the ceiling again, letting her head rest on the back of the couch. 'Maybe she's still awake.' Her head bounces back up at the thought as she stares at the bedroom door again. 'I could just check.'On her tippy toes she quietly walks toward her door. "El?" she whispers as she slowly pushes the door further open, popping her head in the bedroom keeping her hand steadily on the door handle, no answer. "Elise?" she whispers a little louder than before. "Are you awake?" Finally there's movement as Elise moves from lying on her stomach to her side and pops up her head from the pillow. "Could I.. I mean if it's okay with you.. Could I maybe sleep in here with you?" If it wasn't so dark Elise could see Natasha's face turning red. "I mean if you want, I don't have to it's just that I can't seem to fall asleep and I guess I don't.. I just don't want to be alone right now."
"Nat, stop." She leans over to the other side of the bed to grab the covers, lifting it open. "Get in."
"Really?" she finds herself swallowing hard and gripping the door handle a little tighter. 'What the actual hell! Am I nervous?'
She chuckles a little. "Yeah, it's okay. I already said you could, remember? Now get your ass in here." Natasha tiptoes into the room as if she didn't want to wake her up more than she already has (again) and gets in the bed. After a bit of squirming around she finally gets settled and relaxes a bit more. "Good night, chicken."
She turns her head to look at Elise. Her face is being illuminated by the little bit of light of the night shining through her window and Natasha can't help for a split second being mesmerized by it. "Yeah.. Good night, monkey."
Finally she falls asleep as she finds comfort in hearing someone calmly breathing next to her, someone falling asleep next to her, having Elise next to her.

Some time later Elise wakes up to a mumbling Natasha who keeps tossing and turning every now and then. When the moves became more rapid she tried to wake her up by softly saying her name, almost whispering it in order not to startle her, but she only became more distressed. So she softly placed her hand on Natasha's shoulder who seemed to calm at her mere touch, and slowly moved her hand up and down her arm in a soothing way.
What she didn't expect was that Natasha, in her sleep, turns to face her and scoots in closer, almost snuggling up to her. A little smile appears on Elise's face as she gently pulls her in closer and allows her to rest her head on her chest as Natasha wraps an arm around her waist.
Elise settles once again but suddenly takes in a shallow breath as she realizes just how close they are right now, wondering if what she's doing is even okay to do in the first place. But she also can't help but feel completely at ease as her eyelids uncontrollably start to close again before she even has a chance to figure out why.--
The morning crept around the corner as the sun began the shine into the bedroom through the half closed curtains. Natasha was still in a daze as she starts to wake up grumpy as hell. She tries to open her eyes but immediately squints them back shut as she had to adjust to the sunlight and let's out an annoyed sigh. 'Did I forget to close the curtains or something... It's too early for this shit come on!'
