Chapter Four
I stretched as I began to walk around the alley. I pressed my hand to my forehead, I began to feel lightheaded. I've been feeling faintly ill for the past couple of days...and really tired. My mood has been all over, mostly pleasant. It's been three weeks since I saw Dean. After he left, I felt kind of strange, different almost. Alone, maybe? I smiled for a moment as Alex whined about jumping over the fence. She told me to go first, I rolled my eyes as Sam and Zayn yelled from the other side. I hopped off the fence and was about to join Sam and Zayn, when...
"Ry, help me...."
A small voice filled my ears, I turned around with raised eyebrows. I let out a short bark of laughter, noticing she was still on the fence, "What happened honey?"
"My pants are caught on the fence..." She smiled sheepishly, her face turned a dark shade of red.
I turned to the two figures who were still watching. "Sam...Zayn, we have a situation." They turned around and looked around confused before their eyes fell on our friend, who was kind of hanging off the fence. They immediately starting laughing and I bit down on my lip to prevent my laughter from being heard.
"Shut up before the people hear you," Alex hissed embarrassed as she looked around at the apartments. I felt so bad for her, my poor friend. I moved towards her chuckling.
"Just help me get her down." I coughed to cover my laughter. I climbed up the fence with ease, Sam followed. Zayn waited at the bottom just in case he needed to catch her. I wrapped my arm around her waist, winking. Sam began to work on unlatching Alex's pants from the fence. I heard footsteps approaching, my eyes scanned the darkness wildly. As I lowered Alex into Zayn's arms. "Look," I said whispered practically silent.
Zayn made a gesture for us to stay on the fence. The staggering shadowy figures slowly came into the light. It's a rabid wolf. "Go." Zayn hissed dodging over fence with Alex in his arm. Sam and I jumped over as well. We were a few feet away when I made the mistake of glancing over my shoulder.
"Oh my god, it's huge!" Sam laughed.
"I bet you, my dog is bigger than yours," I taunted. I could really feel the adrenaline and I knew they could too. I tend to get a little too bold when faced with issues.
"Ummm... guys don't look back now, I think it just multiplied into three more," She huffed.
"Over to the trees... I gotta plan," I say stopping. I turned to the beasts and climbed onto someone's roof. "Did da wittle pups get lost," I say it as if I talking to a baby.
They growled furiously at me. I ,for some reason, carry a switchblade on me. I flipped it from my bra...yup, I keep it in my bra. And I hit the only street light out here, causing it to shatter. I'm going to trap them because they can see in the dark, but not like us. I could see Zayn, Sam and Alex creeping out of the trees.
"We're going to trap them," I said through the pack's mind link.
"Why can't we kill them?" Zayn whined.
"Because its wrong," Sam and Alex chuckled.
"Come on," I said. I crept up on them jumping on one. Then, there was a sharp pain in my stomach, "Shit..." I clutched my stomach waiting for it to past. As I waited, I was scratched across my leg. I winced again.
"Sawyer?" A familiar voice said.
"Mr. Black?" I gasped, turning to see my teacher in the glow of the alleyway. He was in a leather jacket and dark washed jeans. He growled at the dogs and they scurried away.
