The nightmares woke you again, and they were always the same: you were back in that room alone tortured while burning while a masked person watched you from the shadows and after an eternity of silence the creature utter one-word "death". You woke up after the word whispered Your whole body is burning as if you were back there. This dorm was known for nightmares, Jean with her telepathy had often woke you in the dead of night, and you ran to alert the others, but now it was different: Jean had to make sure no one could enter the room leaving only Professor Xavier to try to calm you in his mind.

The room was uncomfortably cold, and that's coming from you and a cool mist veiled the place leaving you shivering and trembling on your bed.
Your breaths were rapid as the anxiety crept in you had to keep pinching yourself I'm not back there, I'm not back there, but the darkness persuaded you. Tears streamed down your face, and you barely heard the knock on the door.
Voices were heard arguing from the other side - you could make out Scott and Hanks) but you paid no attention instead a sob leaves your lips, and another wave of nausea pummelled you. ( A/N Anxiety is different for everyone. I only know what I experience as I have anxiety and the characters panic attacks I've written similar to what I experience but written on a more smaller scale :)
The door flew open, and your very own angel stood there, his blue eye wide with concern, "no don't it's too cold" you mumbled between breathes Warren only pressed his lips into line before he stepped in the room. As you expected Warren immediately crumbled to the ground with a whimper making you more and more troubled he then slowly clawed his way to your side; his skin ghost like his lips purple and frost beginning to bloom on his blonde curls. He took your hands in his own, " It's just a nightmare, shh it's okay don't panic you're safe. It's okay" he spoke into your ear
"I can't stop it" you cried as he drew circles on your hands he looked up to your eyes,
"Breathe. I've got you just focus on my heartbeat" Warren voice was unusually low and calming.

You closed your eyes allowing Warren to pull you onto his lap cradling you so that your head leant on his chest. You exhaled slowly snuggling closer into your friend one of his wings covered you like a feather blanket you were focusing on the best of his heart the pattern lured you into calm with its song.
You lay there in Warren strong arms he whispered soothing words into your ear - "how did I ever deserve a friend like Ren" you thought
The professor entered the room his eyebrows furrowed in concern he looked at you and Warren curled up together and smiled - Warren has proven to be the only one to calm you and your powers, of course, the professor knew why. Warren looked up from his shivering friend to see the professor with a small smile and a glimmer in his eyes; he shared a look with his student before leaving.

" The dream, it felt so real like I was back there" you mumbled into his shirt Warren moved your hair from your eye stroking your h/c hair in silence.
" I get them too" he uttered you turned so that you could look up at him only to find the angel staring softly at you
"The nightmares. I wake up thinking I lost everyone. That I'm nothing more than what Apocalypse had made me into, a monster that doesn't deserve to be here."
"You deserve to be here. Alive with me - " you muttered sleepily the sentence lost
Warren smiled, and a fuzzy feeling crawled up him warming his cheeks: he only really allowed himself to be vulnerable with you. It was just something about your presence - always excited to see him, a smile lit on your face when he looks at you or your warm, safe hugs: to him, you were so fragile, and he was scared to death that he would ruin you like everything else.
Warren looked at the girl his held in his arms and felt at home all he knew was that he never wanted to leave your side he felt the need to protect you and always be there for you, too make you laugh rendered him speechless.

Warren looked back at you, you had gone limp in his hold and his realised you had fallen asleep: he gently picked you up tucking you back into your bed. He sat next to you watching as your eyelids fluttered hopefully dreaming pleasant dreams, he couldn't help but notice how adorable you looked sleeping, your hair a cute mess and lips a pout.

From the corner of the room, Jean had entered not wanting to disturb her friends she left and waited outside. Warren was such a gentleman tucking you gingerly in your bed whispering good dreams into your ear. The telepath smiled at the unspoken bond between the two of you. It even surprised Jean to see Warren - a mutant who the students were almost scared of - kiss your forehead goodnight.
