Chapter 5

Tris pov:

I wake up to the words ' fear God alone' in front of me. We must be at our apartments. I sit up, when Tobias walks into the room. " Hey" he says.

" You're awake, that's good. You've been knocked out for about an hour and a half. Damion was the one who attacked you. Turns out he's Peter's brother, so we should really watch out for him. I'm so sorry that I couldn't be the one to save you, it's just that Peter was coming to see his brother, when you got pushed, so he got there first." He says.

"Tobias, it's okay. As long as I'm safe, that's all that matters." I tell him.

He smiles and kisses my forehead as he crouches beside me.

" So, how is your head?" He asks.

" Eh it's fine. I almost forgot I even hit it." I say.

" That's good. We should probably start walking to the cafeteria." I nod.

" And by the way, I think we should keep our relationship secret during initiation." He adds.

" Ya I was thinking the same thing." I reply.

We go to the cafeteria and the Initiates are not here yet. We sit down where Christina and Uriah are sitting, arguing. " What are you two bickering about now?" I ask.

" Uriah thinks that 'The Maze Runner'

series is better than 'The Hunger Games' series!"

" Of course 'The Maze Runner' books are better. I mean come on, Dylan O' Brian!" Four says.

" Hey, have you forgotten about the funny, amazing, Jennifer Lawrence? And what about Josh Hutcherson! He is like an adorable little Chipmunk! I always want to pinch his cheeks!" Christina says.

" What about you Tris? Which do you choose?" Uriah asks.

" Oh haha neither! 'The fault in our stars' is definitely the best book ever. And I mean Shailene Woodley is the bae! And some people say I look a little like her too!" I say.

" Haha! Oh sweet heart you could never pull that off!" Christina laughs.

I frown and look down. That hurt.

Will, Shauna, Zeke, Lynn, and Marlene

walk up to our table and sit down.

"What's up?" Shauna asks.

" Well we are deciding whether The Maze runner, Hunger Games, or Fault in our stars, are better books." Tobias says.

" Oh none of them beats 'Harry Potter'" Shauna says.

" Psh, 'Matched' is the best." Marlene says.

"Nope, ' The Mortal Instruments' beats them all!" Lynn says.

" Oh please, 'Percy Jackson' is the best of the best!" Will says.

" I like Todrick Hall!" Zeke says.

We all just stare at him confused.

He raises his right hand and says

" Hey! He may not be a book, but I am a Toddler for life! But I do like the Giver. " We just roll our eyes.

The initiates arrive, and our group continues to argue over which book is better, and Zeke is just sitting there singing Todrick Hall songs.

Desiree, Ellie, Rose, Hannah, Ethan, and Erin, come and sit with us.

" Hi Six" Ellie says.

" Hi Ellie, how are you doing so far?" I ask. " Not too bad. There's some people that aren't very nice, but I will just hope that they become Factionless!" She says in a very bubbly way. I guess that's just part of her personality.

" Wow, that's not very Abnegation of you!" Ethan says surprised. " Ya, well I'm not abnegation anymore, I'm dauntless now, so I should start acting like it." She replies.

" What are they arguing about?" Desiree asks,speaking up.

" What book is the best." I say.

" Oh, me and Ellie couldn't read books or see the movies because it's ' too self- indulgent." She says with a hint of frustration and sadness.

" Well I could, and the best book is

' If I stay'" Rose says. Our group heard what she said and Uriah laughs saying

" Even your own sister didn't choose

'Hunger Games"

"Woah, woah, woah! Are you guys forgetting the most amazing series?" Hannah asks.

" Which would be..." Christina asks.

"Twilight!" Hannah exclaims.

Everyone boos and rolls their eyes.

"Hey guys! You've got it all wrong!

' divergent! And she ain't no Veronica Roth... Most the time." He says.

"Oh man how could we forget about that one! That's the best one! Agreed?" Marlene asks. " Agreed" everyone, but Desiree, Ellie, and Erin say.

" Erin, you didn't say agreed, so what's you're favorite book?" I ask.

" Oh um, I couldn't read books growing up." She says.

" But Amity can read books, only Abnegation can't read them." I reply.

" Oh- uh- I just... Never did." She says.

I look deep into her eyes and observe her face. She looks so familiar.

" You know,Erin, you look really familiar." I say and her eyes widen and it look as if she is searching for some kind of excuse.

" I couldn't imagine why" she says quickly looking down. After a long silence from our table, everyone goes back to their conversations.

We go back to the apartment, and as I am falling asleep wrapped in Tobias's arms, I wonder,
