Tris pov:
It has been one day since my breakdown. Apparently I was passed out for a whole day, so I missed the fights. We are now moving on to stage two, fear simulations.
Tobias and I are standing in the simulation room. We will be doing simulations for the transfers and Christina and Uriah will be doing the simulations for the Dauntless borns.
I look at the list and see Ariana is first.
I go and retrieve her. She sits down in the chair obviously nervous.
I stick the needle in her neck and explain to her what will happen.
She replies with "Whatever"
I go stand next to Tobias and we watch the simulation.
She walks into what looks like school. Except, she has two big pigtails, a face full of zits, square glasses, and braces.
"Whoa" Tobias and I say at the same time. We look at each other with sad expression and look back at the screen.
It shows her getting pushed into lockers by other students. Calling her rude names. The simulation ends after a while. She has tears slowly rolling down her cheek. She looks at us sadly as if saying ' now you know my secret' with her eyes. She doesn't say another word, but just walks out. We take a deep breath and go and retrieve the next initiate. Damion.
His simulation starts and it shows him walking down a street in Candor and he hears rustling behind trashcans. Me and Tobias look at each other nervous about what was about to come out. We see a tiny brown and white puppy pop out. " Awwwww!" I say. Damion doesn't exactly have the same response.
"S- stay away from me." He says scared. " What? Who could be afraid of an innocent little puppy?!" Tobias asks. The puppy then starts growing and growing and growing. It is standing over Damion and he roars in his face.
It picks Damion up and starts eating him. We watch him getting ripped up and he comes out of the simulation.
"Ummm..." I say.
He just sits there completely terrorized.
"You can go." Tobias says.
He still sits there.
"Ruff" I say, and he screams and runs out. Me and Four look at each other and burst into a fit of laughter.
One by one the initiates file into the room to take their tests, and now it is Ellie's turn. She is laying in her chair, before the simulation starts.
She is in Erudite, she is just standing in the middle of a crowd, when her eyes narrow, then Jeanine Matthews, comes walking out of the crowd. She doesn't hesitate to throw herself on top of Jeanine and punch her and watch her bleed, Jeanine goes unconscious and the simulation ends.
She sits up in the chair, me and Tobias slowly clap for her and a smile spreads across her face as she stands up, bows, and walks out of the room.
I go out to get the last person, which is Desiree. She sits in the chair and her simulation starts.
It shows her in the Factionless area and
a man I could never forget walks out.
Marcus.
He says " This is for your own good" And pulls his arm back, but Desiree, is squeezing her eyes shut very tightly.
Right as he is about to strike, the simulation ends.
I stand there in shock and when I look over at Tobias I can see his eyes are filled with tears.
I look at Desiree and she is sitting with her head in her hands.
" Desiree" I say, my voice cracking. She looks up and I can see the tears slowly falling from her eyes onto her cheeks.
She looks back and forth at me and Tobias. She sniffs and says " You guys don't have to sit so far away from each other, I know you're together." I somehow manage to muster up a little laugh.
I look at Tobias who is still just sitting there looking at Desiree, with tears running down his face.
" Why is Four crying, and why are you acting all weird Six? I mean I know I have a screwed up life, but please just don't look at me like I'm a kicked puppy, because I'm not." She says.
I take a deep breath and grab Tobias's hand and say " Don't call us Four or Six, when we are alone."
"Then what do I call you?" She asks.
" Tris Prior and-" I start, and Tobias Finishes with " Tobias... Tobias Eaton"
Her eyes widen with shock and tears start gathering in her eyes and threaten to pour out. "Eaton?" she croaks.
" Ya, and... I'm your brother."
Right as he finishes his his last words
she lets out a gasp that sounds like she just held her breath for 3 minuets, and embraces him in a hug. They stand there for what feels like forever crying into each other's shoulder, their bodies racking.
They pull apart with red eyes and she says " I have a brother?"
" Ya, and how didn't I know I had a sister?" He asks.
While they were hugging I thought about this.
" Well I think I might know, considering I grew up with Tobias my whole life in Abnegation, I know more about him than he knows about himself. Well Tobias, your mom died in child birth when you were about seven, which was clearly a lie because Desiree is alive, so if your simulation. Was in the Factionless sector, you probably grew up there, but still got to go to school and be abnegation, because your Father is Marcus and he is the leader of Abnegation. When Tobias left Abnegation, Marcus probably wanted somebody to abuse and since Desiree was older then, he did it to her. Then he came here with my Father and Jeanine to try and kill us and was put into jail, so then he couldn't beat you anymore, but this is still a fear you have and won't forget just like Tobias. And because it is obvious you are divergent you probably have the same aptitude as Tobias, which is Abnegation and Dauntless" I say quickly.
They look at me gaping at all of that and then Tobias says " my side of the story is right."
"Mine is all right also, except for my aptitude being the same as Tobias's."
She says.
I furrow my eyebrows a bit and ask
" What's your aptitude?"
" Abnegation, Erudite, Dauntless, Amity, and Candor." Me and Tobias's eyes widen. 5 factions? She has FIVE factions????!!!! That would explain why she was able to just leave the simulation.
" Desiree, you're dangerous-" I start, but she cuts off and saying frustratedly
"What makes me so dangerous?"
"What makes you different makes you dangerous! A normal initiate would be in a simulation for about 15-20 minuets, a normal divergent would be in the simulation for around 2-5 minutes, Desiree, You were in that simulation for 30 seconds!" I exclaim.
She takes a deep breath and says
" I- I think I need some rest. Bye." She hugs Tobias and he kisses her cheek and she leaves.
I look at Tobias and a smile makes its way across his face and he says
"I have a sister"
