     "Will you marry me?"

Austin's words dripped from his soft lips and danced their way into Daya's awaiting ears. For three years, they had trudged through the monarchy's vicious storm; threats, betrayals, and even war. And they did it all together. Now, the rest of her life was knelt in front of her: Austin Christopher the third, next in line for the throne of Aspin.

Tears suffocated Daya's reply before it could escape her throat, but the unwritten language between the two spoke for her, as she lept into her prince's arms. If Daya Savech and Austin Christipher stood in the middle of the Red Sea while it was parting, they would still come out united. Their kingdoms would soon follow suite. When both ascended, neighboring lands Aspin, under Austin's command and Quishea', under hers would merge for as long as their love prospered: all eternity.

"You sure? Last chance to back out. I mean, I'm not that bad. I don't bite. Snore maybe, but I don't bite I swear! I..I mean, if you can't sleep through that we could-" Daya silenced him

"You know what, you're right, Austin."

     "What?"

"I said you're right. This is my last chance to back out, after all. Honestly, I was having second thoughts anyway. Maybe we should wait, or better yet, take a break?"

Austin palmed the ring box he had put in his pocket and opened it. Inside, was an overall dull ring to anyone else, but to her, it was perfect. The rose gold band basked in the moonlight's rays, and a tiny sapphire peaked through. Daya had not even looked before. She didn't care, as long as she was with the boy that she called home.

"So, that's what you want, Daya?" His lip drooped and quivered slightly; he was determined not to cry, but his resolve was slowly fading.

"No, you big oaf! Did you really think-"

He was the one to silence her this time. Austin towered over her, but was always gentle. In seconds, their kiss shared that same soft, gentleness. An autumn breeze surrounded the couple, prompting them to pull closer together. Daya enjoyed his warmth as the air grew even more bitter, but he withdrew from her.

Austin kneeled down in front of her, holding the shining ring.
"Before you have the chance to change your mind again, Daya Savech, my love, my princess, my pizza roll, will you marry me?"

     Daya sighed, "I guess so."

He wrapped his arms around her, and put his plan into motion. Austin held her bridal style, and swayed his love over the hill's edge.

"One more peep like that out of you, and you'll be rolling down!"

"Well Austin, I hope every chicken nugget you eat for the rest of your life is soggy!" Daya stuck her tounge out at him.

A man of his word, he pretended to throw her over the edge, until the squeal he desired arose. Carefully, Austin returned her to safety.

     "Piglet," he teased.

"Shut up, I can still back out you know!" Austin threw up his hands.

     "Okay, okay, you win... piglet."
Daya attempted to punch his arm, but in an instant she was thrown over Austin's shoulder.

       "Austin!"
"What, I gotta get you off of this hill before you change your mind again."

Daya's squirms became few and far between as she ran out of energy. In a huff, she submitted to her position. They were almost on the ground by now.

"I guess we should tell my dad then, before I change my mind."

"Hopefully, he'll be easier to persuade than you, Savech." Another arm punch missed its mark.

Don Savech's thin frame was barely visible in the dim light. It was nearly two am, but even then, the grey hairs on his head were prominent. The frame was holding a phone, mumbling words like marriage, engagement, and deal.. It turned,  hung up, and took stock of the couple. For being fifty, Quishea's king had excellent eyesight. Those eyes, in turn, devowered the ring encompassing Daya's fingers.

Their owner paused, rubbed it's temples, and sighed. "Austin, son, I know I gave you permission, but you can not marry my daughter.
