Arriving at the restaraunt I grabbed Leila out of her car seat and followed my parents towards a large table where Escape The Fate were already seated I placed Leila in a seat next to one of the members a curly haired fella who was wearing shades. The only seat that was left was inbetween Leila and Craig. I was secretly hoping my Mum would keep the seat next to Max free for me, but she didn't, it seemed like she wanted to sit and flirt with him. I took the seat opposite Max and grabbed my phone to send my Mum a sneaky text. It read. Remember Mum you're not single with a wink face. Her phone buzzed as I slid mine back into my purse. She looked up at me and folded her arms across her ribs making her chest stick out further. I rolled my eyes at her teenage like behaviour and stared down at the menu. No one was talking to me, everyone had split into little groups just leaving me and Leila out I sighed "Well it would be nice if they introduced themselves to us wouldn't it Leila?" She looked up at me confused. I chuckled at her before looking up at everyone else. My Mum was getting way to comfortable talking to Max, if only I could hear what they were saying from across the table. I grabbed a childs menu out of the rack and showed it to Leila. "So what are you having" To be honest I really didn't need to ask because she always had the same thing
"CHICKEN NUGGETS!" she screeched making my ears ring for a second or two. I placed the menus down and told Craig what we both wanted so he could write it down. Still no one was including me in any coversation so I ended up helping Leila colour in her activiy book the waiter gave to her. I was soon distracted when my phone started buzzing, it was Matt. I groaned and excused myself from the table. I sat outside on the decking at an empty table "Hello"
"Hey"
"So did you call to kindly explain everything that's been going on?" I heard him sigh. I grunted.
"Well I'm dating Abigail, have been for months now, We're both just fed up of being in your shadow"
"My shad?" He inturupted me
"We've both always been in your shadow and we're fed up of it so we made up some rumours about you"
"What so you can become popular? Matt we've finished school, we're going our seperate ways, what's the point?"
"I just don't think we should hang anymore" the line went dead. I groaned loudly but jumped as soon as I felt a hand grasp my shoulder.
"Everything okay?" I turned around to see Max standing over me.
"Oh yeah everythings fine, just some old friends getting on my case" I shrugged
"Well Craig told me to come and get you, food's here" I smiled at him as he walked back into the restaurant. I shook my head and placed my phone back into my purse. The food wasn't great, I had Pasta with pesto and it was so dry! I would have much prefered Leila's chicken nuggets. Most of the band had left now, well all of the band but Max. Who my Mother had invited over for coffee. Craig grabbed Leila and took her away to the bar so that she could get a lollipop from the barman.
The car journey home was great, my Mum hates sitting in the back so Max had to sit next to me, not that I was complaining. Craig didn't speak the whole journey home and my Mum was all angry and annoyed so I presumed that Craig had also noticed the flirting going on with Max. I was attempting to make conversation with him but he wasn't intersted he was focused on my Mum the whole time. I think my Mum was going to turn into my new enemy at this rate. I nudged Max "You do know my Mum is married to Craig right?" He chuckled "You think I'm interested in your Mother?"
"Well look at you, you're in awe over her" He laughed again awkwardly "I mean she's gorgeous don't get me wrong but I wouldn't make a move seeing as she's married to the lead singer of my band" I rolled my eyes and watched his as he pulled his lip rings making his lip smack against his teeth.
I hadn't even got through the front door and my Mum was already demanding I made the coffee, I watched as she and Max walked into the living room, Leila clumsily tripping over her own feet trying to keep up with Mum and Max. Craig still had a face like a slapped arse. I knew we didn't really get on as such but I did feel for him.
"So are you having coffee?" I asked Leila ran back into the kitchen and Craig lifted her up.
"No, I'm going to go upstairs and watch a film with Leila. I'll leave yout Mum to her little date" I put the kettle on and stepped into the living room. If only you could have seen the horror I had just walked into! My Mum was sat locked lips with Max and it wasn't just a kiss it was a full on make out session. I ran back into the kitchen, I was so glad Craig had already gone upstairs. I poured the coffee and made sure I made noise when trapping back in. This time they weren't making out, they were sat quite far away from each other. I sat inbetween them both and handed them their coffee.
I was so unbelievably tempted to tell Craig but I didn't want to cause any drama just yet I mean he'd only been in the band, what, a day? I mean it seemed Craig already knew anyway with the way he was acting. Soon Max left "I really think you should speak ro Craig?" She laughed at my comment
"Since when have you been concerned about Craig and myself?" I had to agree with her she was right. I was never interested in their problems unless it had something to do with me.
