"It's been four days, Changbin! If Jeongin really said that he's still my friend and that he wants to make things right between us, he's taking his sweet time doing it," Felix stated.
The week of exams had passed very, very quickly. The Australian found that to be a bit odd, because exam week normally felt like exam year, but those five days of testing went by in what felt like the blink of an eye. Other than worrying about his fragile relationship with the younger boy, Felix didn't do much. He was basically consumed by the thought of never being friends with Jeongin again, and his days were spent worrying about what it was that he'd done so wrong.
He still wasn't quite sure about it. He didn't know where he'd messed up, so he wasn't sure what he was supposed to apologize for. But, it didn't really matter in the end, because the blonde would have apologized for virtually anything if it meant having one of his very best friends back in his life. Even if he found the reason to be dumb, he would have apologized for it, because that's simply how much Jeongin and their friendship meant to him.
"You really need to stop worrying about so many things," Changbin stated lightly.
"I really hope you didn't let this situation get in your head while you took your exams."
"No worries," Felix assured, "I didn't. I actually feel pretty confident about my scores this year. Or, most of them, anyway."
"You should feel confident," the older boy replied, "you put so much work into your revisions."
"Yeah, but...Sometimes that's just not enough," the Australian pointed out.
"Don't be so hard on yourself, silly. I'll bet you did an amazing job. You probably got the highest score in your grade," the raven haired boy replied as he slipped his arm around the younger boy's shoulders.
For a split second, the blonde considered getting up and running, because Changbin's arm was around him, and it was sending his heart on a marathon. But, then he remembered something very important...
I like Changbin, he reminded himself, so...It's okay if we're this close. It's normal.
The younger boy slowly relaxed his shoulders, and even had the courage to rest the side of his head on the raven haired boy, which caused Changbin to smile. Despite the turmoil between Jeongin and Felix; the growing affections between Changbin and the Australian were only becoming more pronounced as the days went by. They weren't "official", but neither of them really cared too much about that. At first, it was all the older boy wanted to be. He felt like if he and Felix were to make their relationship official that it would help to bring them together in more romantic and affectionate ways. But, then he came to realize that the label of lovers didn't matter as much as he thought it did.
After all, he could hold Felix's hand, hold him in his sleep, and put his arm around him; all things that normal couples do, and he could do it without the official label of the younger boy being his boyfriend. Of course, one day he'd like things to be solidified by that title, and then he hoped for the higher up later on, but as for their moments shared then...It just didn't matter. He was content with the way that things were and the way that things were going; and that was all that mattered as far as he was concerned. As long as both he and Felix were happy; then he didn't really see a reason to try and change that right away. Especially not when things were going so incredibly well between them.
Felix had become more accepting of the affection that the older boy so often showed him, and the blonde even held the raven haired boy's hand in front of both Hyunjin and Seungmin twice. Not to mention the fact that Changbin was getting paid by Sleeping Delivery to simply stay in his own bed and keep his arms around the one person he loved most. It was like getting paid to do the most amazing job in the entire world.
