Felix felt like his whole entire life was crumbling down around him, and it just wasn't fair. He'd already lost so much that year. Both his parents had passed away, and he'd been stripped from his childhood home. At just age eight, it all took a massive beating on his emotional psyche, and the only thing that he'd been able to find any type of solace in was with Changbin. When he was with the older boy, he felt free, and infinite, and almost like he was invincible. He felt like nothing would ever be able to hurt him ever again when the raven haired boy was by his side.
But he'd been wrong; incredibly wrong. As much as he hoped that things would always be happy with the taller boy forever; he knew now that that couldn't happen. It wouldn't ever be his reality, and he hated it.
"...please don't cry," Changbin whispered, because he feared that he would cry too if the younger boy didn't stop, and he didn't want to cry in front of Felix.
Not when he was supposed to be the strong one in their current situation. He was supposed to be the one that kept the Australian safe and secure, and seeing tears leak from the eyes of the younger made him feel like he was nothing but a failure.
"I don't want to go," Felix's voice cracked as he spoke, and he squeezed his eyes shut tightly.
Changbin didn't quite know what to say or do. He was always good at protecting the brunette from things in his sleep, but what was he supposed to do now that the younger boy's nightmares had followed him into his waking hours?
"Everything will be okay," the raven haired boy whispered reassuringly, but Felix simply couldn't believe that it was true; as badly as he wanted to.
"It won't," the smaller boy shook his head.
"Nothing will ever be okay again."
The Australian's voice sounded hopelessly desperate, and the older boy hated that. He didn't like the way that his best friend sounded so sad, because as far as he was concerned, Felix wasn't ever in a million years supposed to sound that way. No, Felix was supposed to always be happy and joyful. It's what suited him best.
"That's not true," Changbin murmured as he enveloped the brunette into a hug.
"This isn't forever. It's just for now."
