Decided

As we go on towards the riverside where we last saw Peace, some of us are curious and worried about what the future might hold, while others seem to be enjoying themselves a bit too much.

Although the streets are dark we can see enough thanks to the moonlight. We can see that Dan and the gargoyle, who didn't actually have a name but Dan called him Garry, are joking around and shoving each other playfully.

They don't seem to worry about the worlds, about the future, about anything. They just seem to enjoy each other's company and I guess I am a bit jealous.

I was never able to live in a moment, to appreciate every second as what it is, a gift. I always had to worry about the future, about what needed to be done for it to be better and so on.

To live in the moment is the right thing to do because no matter what we do we can't predict the future. Having all this knowledge doesn't stop me from being annoyed at them.

The future of the whole world is at stake and there they are comparing notes on the best jokes, pranks and so on.

Luminos, Sam's phoenix magical, and Sam seem to be engaged in a deep and serious conversation while Flyjoy and I just try to distract ourselves from our worries.

Upon arriving we meet with Peace, and he welcomes all of us to the Council meeting.

He is even more glorious than I remember, it seems to me as if he has more energy and magic about him.

I mean he was magnificent to start with, but upon seeing him before the Council meeting, all I can think is how radiant he is.

There is this golden aura around him that I am pretty sure wasn't there before, but soon enough I am distracted by practical worries and forget all about that sentiment.

Peace presides over the Council meeting, and he starts off with an easier topic than I expect.

The first agenda of the meeting is what to do about the fact that there are now two worlds connected by a strong bond.

To be honest, most of the meeting and the discussions are quite boring to me, since the meeting is too similar to human Council meetings and not magical, the way I expected it to be.
I spend most of the meeting observing things since I am not of an age when someone might appreciate my input.

It is quite an unusual gathering. There are all sorts of magical beings grouped in one place on the river bank and there is also a group of humans on the opposite side of them.

No one is very comfortable in the presence of the other.

Even the humans and magicals who have connected are cautious around other humans/magicals.

It is clear to see that the humans feel weak and powerless, and are afraid of the magicals who possess the magic that they can't comprehend much less harvest.

The magicals, on the other hand, are afraid of humans since they know how often humans killed and that it is their default reaction when scared.

Those are all reasonable fears, but I still can't understand them, probably because it was easy for me to accept all the magical things since I have always believed in them.

Finally, the decision is made for a land portal to be made so that everyone can go back and forth as much as they want.

That in turn, would make it easier for them to decide where they want to live.

That decision is greeted with approval by both parties, but I know that the easier decision was made, the more difficult one starts being discussed, the angry humans.

There are still some humans who don't accept the situation they are faced with, and they keep lashing out at both magicals and other humans.

That makes them a threat to the whole new society so different approaches are discussed.

I think they should just be imprisoned if they break the law, but Flyjoy says that limiting someone's freedom is the cruelest punishment ever invented. Especially, having in mind that they are only scared humans who are no longer under the influence of the evil forces.

The discussion is much longer than expected, but finally, a temporary solution is made.

All the humans who committed any crimes would be deported to Solactia since there it is impossible for anyone to hurt another living being.

There, it is hoped they would be able to let go of their anger and accept a better life.

"They shall stay there until the Deliverer is ready to liberate all of us from our doubts and negative emotions!" Peace says concluding the meeting.

I have no idea what he is talking about but I do plan to find out.
