Chapter 11

"What the hell? Who are they? And what are they doing here?" Sadie whispered to the girls.

"Why would you think we know?" Sophia whisper-yelled back.

"Nevermind. We need to tell the guys about this, since we know they're all outside the fence and not inside."

"Lets split up," Millie said. The girls all went their ways to each of the other bedrooms, informing them on what they saw.

"Are you sure?" Jaeden asked Sophia after she told him what she saw.

"Why would I lie?"

"I don't know, sorry."

"Everyone come to our room!" Noah whisper-yelled across the hallway. Noah, Caleb, and Gaten's room was the biggest, so it made sense for them to come in there.

After everyone was in there, a debate started. What were they going to do?

"I say we go out there and tell them to fuck off," Caleb said. There was a silence in the room while everyone stared at him.

"Dude!" Jaeden whisper-yelled.

"Sorry. Got a little carried away."

"I say that two or three of us go downstairs and call the police using the phone downstairs," Gaten said.

"That's actually good, a better plan than what Caleb suggested," Jaeden said. Caleb gave him the finger.

"Who wants to go down with me?" Gaten asked.

Silence again.

"Caleb! Thanks for volunteering yourself! Let's go," Gaten said, dragging Caleb by the arm down the narrow hallway.

"Hey! Why am I the one who has to do this with you?"

"Because you're the idiot who made a stupid remark earlier."

Caleb shoved him a little and Gaten shoved back. They walked slowly down the stairs in the dark, making sure not to miss a step and go tumbling down.

By the time their eyes had adjusted to the darkness, they reached the kitchen. Gaten picked up the phone and dialed 911. They immediately picked up.

"911 what is your emergency?" The lady on the other line said.

"H-h-hi, we have a problem."

"What's going on sir?"

"There is a group of guys on the outside of our fence and we don't know what they're doing. We're really scared."

"Do you have an address for me? I'll send officers down right away to investigate the problem."

Caleb told Gaten who told the lady on the line their address.

"I'll have officers down right away. Please stay calm and don't panic."

"Thank you."

They hid behind the counter and waited for about five minutes when they saw two police cars, without their lights on, pull into the driveway. They crawled over to the door and opened it.

Caleb whisper-yelled, "In the back!"

They stood on the porch with an officer while three others went in the back. They stood there for another about a minute, until they heard a gunshot.

Caleb and Gaten exchanged glances in fear.
