Ash and were horrified.Our mother squirmed free than effectively nuzzled the black fox.He nudged her with his head in response.Ash leaped out after the black fox.I slowly followed her.It was our father.
"Scared yah,"he laughed.I placed me front paws on his side and tilted my head to look at him.
"Sure did,"panted ash.she sat down happily in front of him.
"Well you did an exceptional job of hiding,"he nuzzled her.Ash seemed pleased.I dropped back down to all four.
"Did you catch anything,"our mother ,rose,asked gently.
"Of course i did,"our father leaped up the hill and came back with fine looking rabbit."i buried a few mice,"he added.
"Can we come with you to get them,"ash piped.she tilted her head.
"Yeah,"i begged helping her.
Our father glanced at our mother than at us.
"Alright,but go get misty,"he sighed.I lead the way into the den.misty slept quietly in the corner.Ash pounced hitting her side.
Misty yelped sitting up.
"What,"she muttered.her fur was also misty gray.her paws,the end of her muzzle,and the end of her tail were all a darker shade of gray.
"Dad will let us go into the woods,"Ash cheered.I wagged my tail.Misty approved and leaped out of the den.Ash and I followed at her heels.
"Ready,"our father began to lead us into the forest.The bright leaves fell from the trees as winter drew near.Our father lead us a while in then stopped to dig.we could hear a faint snarl in the distance.Our father popped his head up and listened."dogs,"he mumbled.
Slowly a german shepherd grew closer.he could smell the foxes.he began to bark a signal.Misty ran for the den.Ash growled and lashed her tail.I stayed by our fathers side.
Then the dog burst out of the trees and at ash.ash kicked and snapped at the beast.our father bit down on the dogs ruff.he held on.the dig set as free in order to get the other fox.i followed ash back to the den fearful of our fathers life.
