Naruto's P.O.V

After Mr. Hatake's lesson was finished, the school bell rang indicating change in classes. I readily backed up, hoping to get out of class as soon as possible before Kiba could question me farther. I zipped up my backpack and stood up. Simultaneously, Kiba stood up blocking my path.

"What's the hurry, Naruto?"

I looked toward the exist and back at him. "Um, nothing I just want to get to my next class, it's farther away than my other classes and I wanted to make it on time." I didn't know where my next class was, it could of been right next door, but I wasn't going to tell him that. Kiba looked at me suspiciously.

"Look man, if this is about me asking what you are..."

"No, it's not that, really! I just want to get to my next class." I interrupted, trying to walk pace him. He stepped in my way. I did not want to fight my way through, but even if it's my first day, I am willing to step up. I did not like feeling trapped or suffocated, and this situation was making me feel both. The bile churned in my stomach, making the nausea stronger than before.

Food...

I froze, feeling the uneasiness spread throughout my body. I could feel sweat build up from my head down. My skin was itchy. I clenched my hands, looking towards Kiba, ready to strike a punch to get him to move.

Just when I was about ready to lift my arm to swing, my savior came to the rescue.

"Hello Mr. Uzumaki. I've been wanting to talk to you before you next class." Mr. Hatake smiled toward me. I finally glanced toward the teacher and realized how weird he actually looked. The man, despite looking in his early 30s, had silver-grey hair, but the most peculiar thing about him, was that he wore a cotton-tight mask that covered three-fourths of his face. The only indication I got that he was smiling was the curve of his closed eyelid and the contour of his mouth in a upward motion under his mask.

"I-it's nice to meet you, Mr. Hatake..." I stammered out.

"Oh please, call me Kakashi. Hatake was my father."

"Oh, okay Mr. Hata-, I mean Kakashi." I corrected myself. He smiled brightly and looked between me and Kiba.

"Well, if I may intervene, I would like to talk to you before your next class starts." Kakashi looked toward Kiba again.

"Alone." He added, emphasizing the hint toward Kiba. Kiba nodded and swung his backpack over the shoulder and waved us goodbye. He glanced toward my direction before leaving.

Once Kiba left I looked back toward Kakashi. His smile was starting to get creepy. The man was smiling way too long for comfort. He turned sharply and head back down towards his desk. I followed him.

"U-um is there something you needed me for Kakashi?" I asked, nervously.

"How's Iruka doing?" This threw me back from shock. How did he know Iruka. I tried to rack through my brain on how this man, whom I never saw before, knew my dad. Then it clicked.

"Don't worry. I have a friend, who will keep an eye out for you."

I remembered Iruka telling me in the car this morning that he had a friend that was keeping an eye out for me, but I thought that was Jiraiya. I looked toward Kakashi questioningly.
