Iruka took his key out the ignition, right after pulling up next to Kakashi's apartment complex. Naruto was in the back seat, refusing to acknowledge Iruka. He didn't even want to sit next to him in the front seat. Iruka moved his hand over the rearview mirror and positioned it to it reflected Naruto's image.
Iruka debated on speaking. After a few minutes of utter silence and stillness, Iruka sighed.
"Look Naruto...If there was another way for us not to be separated I would. But I talked to everyone I know about this situation, and we feel...I feel this the best option right now. Just until we can find an answer that will keep everyone, including yourself safe."
Iruka turned around to look at Naruto sorrowfully.
"That's just what YOU want Iruka, but you didn't think about how I would feel. You didn't even ask me." Naruto slouched in his seat with his arms crossed.
"It's like I'm being throw away all over again!" Naruto jabbed Iruka with a low blow, making Iruka feel more guilty; hoping that the regret would drive Iruka to change his decision. Iruka frown in the driver seat.
"I'm sorry Naruto....please understand." Iruka said just above a whisper, not tearing his eyes away from Naruto.
Naruto sighed, moving out his seat, tired of their argument. He grabbed a few boxes next to him and opened the door. Iruka followed, knowing the directions to Kakashi's apartment complex. He lived in a two-bedroom condo. High-end, top-of-the-notch condo. It was as spacious as normal one-story house.
There was a guard at the gate. "State your business." He ordered.
Iruka smiled, holding a few more boxes. "We are Kakashi's guest. Could you please phone him down to let us in."
The guard without speaking, pressed an intercom button for Kakashi's complex.
"Your guest have arrived." The guard said, peering down at us with mild animosity. Naruto noticing, growled slightly behind Iruka. Iruka turned to him to shush him quickly, then turned back to the guard and smiled nervously.
"He's just a little impatient that is all. These boxes are heavy." Iruka replied.
"Hm." The only reply the guard said before he returned back to his secluded fortress. The gate beeped and opened slowly. Behind it was a gated golden elevator, that opened conveniently afterward. Kakashi was smiling waiting inside, holding the elevator open.
Iruka ushered after him with Naruto in tow.
Once the gate closed, Naruto spoke up.
"What's the deal with you guard? Seems he's got a stick up his ass." Naruto snidely remarked.
"Language..." Iruka warned. Naruto only rolled his eyes. Kakashi, with this unnaturally permanent smile looked between the two exchanges.
"Ah yes. He can be a bit difficult to newcomers. This is a gated community, after all." Kakashi explained.
"Doesn't give him the right to think he is better than us." Naruto scowled. Kakashi only gave is infamous smile.
"Don't worry, you're my resident now, and I won't let him bother you anymore. How about that?" Kakashi asked.
"Fine by me." Naruto simply said, still in a bad mood from Iruka's decision to begin with. The guard was just the icing on the cake.
Once the elevator stopped, the gate opened, revealing Kakashi's condo. It had a modern look with spacious furniture. The floor were a dark stained wood, the kitchen had stainless steel appliances with an island counter decked in the center. One of the living room wall's was a thick glass that showcased the balcony and the view of the city. It was every rich person's luxury apartment. Naruto could only roll his eyes before he set his boxes down.
