(Sasuke's P.O.V)

The weekend was so mundane. I regrettably wish I took my brother's offer to stay with him in Kyoto for the brief period. The constant chastisement from father has been nothing but miserable.

I sighed, inevitably exhausted with my predicament. I've should of been able to charm that Uzumaki by now. A descendant aren't known to neutralize a supernatural's effect, especially with their blood so muddled with years and years of human genetics altering their blood. This kid was different, special even.

No one has ever caught his interest this much. It only made me want to have him even more. To claim him as my own and strip him of everything. To dive inside him mind and peel back every inch of secrets the boy could have.

His blood was pumping with so much adrenaline and excitement, it was as thrilling as his last hunt. He couldn't remember the last time vampires were allowed to hunt openly. The pact between supernaturals and humans put a lot of restrictions on supernaturals for the protection of humans. Vampires received donated blood from humans weekly, if there wasn't enough to eat, Vampires were allowed to go emergency donor clinics set up every-or-so few blocks, where humans volunteered to act as food vessels, temporarily. These humans usually volunteered for a small sum of money or for the thrill of having a vampire feed from them. Very few vampires would feed from them, as it was a considered a desperate move, and some of the humans tended to have 'filthy' blood.

I finally arrived at school, expecting to meet up with Neji and the rest of his clique. I was secretly hoping a certain blondie would present himself this morning to play with, but I chose not to show it.

I walked up to Neji in the hallway. He was leaning against a locker talking to Gaara. Lately, I sensed he had an interest in Gaara, but I kept my curiosity at bay. It did not matter to me whether or not Neji had love interests. I looked around, inspecting the bustling hallway looking for a familiar scent, but found nothing.

Neji looked toward me and nodded in acknowledgement. I lazily waved toward his direction, and briefly stared toward to Gaara before I looked back over to Neji.

"Have you heard?" Neji questioned.

My eyebrow quirked. "No, I do not believe I have heard of what you are pertaining to."

"Aka Nishin has gone missing all weekend." Neji stated.

I only looked toward him with indifference. Why should I care about this person? Did they go to our school.

"She went to our school." Neji said.

Ah...that answers the question, but I still only stared, debating to walk away from the useless information. I lost empathy for humans a long time ago. I've lived for centuries, humans died all the time, they were not the least bit interesting. Just for amusement I decided to entertain Neji's gossip.

"And? She's a teenager, they're notorious for running away from home."

Neji smirked, "Of course, but do they generally leave without their legs?"

This piqued my interest a little more. If a human was found dead in our area, questions would rise and if someone found it to be a supernatural...let's just say chaos would ensue the political office. Our mayor would have their hands full.

"Her legs were found at the bottom of the Hidden Lake in Konoha forest." Neji added.

I finally decided to acknowledge Neji's statement. I leaned against the locker beside and smirked,

"We are certain there are no monsters that lurk in that lake."

Neji laughed, "If by monsters, you mean fresh water fish, then yes."

"This puts the political office in a predicament." I added.

"Indeed." Neji concurred. Gaara walked off to his siblings that soon arrived. He had the emotions of a brick, and did not care for lives of others or daily news, even if it effected supernaturals.

"Have you seen the Uzumaki kid?" I asked Neji. Neji only shook his head.

"You've seem to have taken a great liking to him." Neji smirked.

"As you have to Gaara." I said with comeback. Neji's smirk faltered before drifting back on his face. He looked toward Gaara. I only rolled my eyes before lifting myself off the lockers and trudged to class.

----------------------------------TIME SKIP-------------------------------------

Naruto's lack of appearance greatly bothered my day. It was completely boring. It's only been a few days of class for him and he skips in week one. What a deviant.

I hoped into my car after waving off to Neji and sped back home, debating whether I should discuss the news I heard with father. He is afterall, in the Divinia Council. Thinking about the dreadful embark towards home, I decided to make a detour towards the forest reservation. There was a road that lead out that way, for forest patrol to usually drive to get to reservation center.

Since the road was rarely used, the drive there was calming. That's when I noticed someone walking alongside the road, his hoodie jacket covered his head. His arms were crossed and looked to have nothing with him. A hitchhiker?

I drove past him and glanced outside my rearview mirror, when a gleam of spiky blond hair caught my eye. I stopped and reversed back toward the hitchhiker and rolled down the passenger window, a familiar scent hit my nose. I smirked.

"Well, if my senses perceive me, what are you doing out in the woods, Naruto?"
