"It all began on a stormy Sunday."

The first Sunday of the new month... A downpour of rain struck upon the residents of Raccoon City, which wasn't uncommon for those who lived in the small town. It seemed everyone was trying to seek shelter, as the streets flooded with rainwater, traversing to the gutters, alongside the roads and pathways. An occasional spark of lightning would light up the dark grey skies, a blast of thunder cries chasing after its electric woes.

For (Name) (Last Name), she was one to seek homage in a small coffee shop that offered a place just for her in a tiny, cozy corner. With her head in the clouds and ethereal music rhythmically dancing to her ears, she typed away for something, anything to write. She was a writer. Days like this only made the task at hand more difficult to grasp onto.

It was only the prologue when she met Leon Kennedy.

As the lights flickered and died with a dissatisfying whine, Leon looked up to see not only the blackout before him but the woman accosted near the corner. Her features were illuminated by the flash of lightning that shifted across the skies. Perfectly shaped lips, ruffled hair framing her face, and half-lidded eyes that were accentuated with fear when she looked about the darkened shop.

Shifting over the counter, the brunette was precise to ask the customers in the shop if they were okay, as well as if he can potentially offer assistance. Before he can ask the young woman he was admiring from afar earlier if she was okay, his coworker shouted for everyone to not worry, which only sent more individuals into hysterics and panic. As (Name) stood, the barista caught her in his grasp, the two of them locking eyes barely adjusted to the dark.

"...Are you okay?"

The second Sunday was surreal. After the events of the last one, this Sunday turned to be a very special day for Leon Kennedy. It was his first date after a chance encounter with (Name) (Surname).

He took her to a local diner in Raccoon City. In fact, it was located near not only his college, but where he worked as well. It was right near the place where they had met.

To say she looked stunning was beyond an understatement. The way her dress curved to her natural proportions left the barista speechless! Her hair framed her face perfectly. Her features were highlighted with blush and a glowing shine. Her painted lips taunted him, as he so daringly wished to kiss by the end of the night.

She was a beauty that was carved by the guardians of the day.

"I'm glad you made it... Please, sit." He spoke, pulling her chair out, sitting before her. When she smiled at him, he could feel his heart begin to pound rapidly in his chest.

How would he withstand this entire night with (Name) if he couldn't even get his nerves under control?

"You look beyond gorgeous, (Name). You should wear that color more often, I really like it on you..." he muttered to her, his grin only beginning to expand when he saw how flustered her cheeks were.

"Thank you... I uh- Honestly I hate this dress. It makes me feel silly wearing it- I should have dressed more casual- uh- I'm sorry..." Clearing her throat, he took her hand, rubbing it with his thumb.

"You shouldn't be sorry for looking like an absolute model. Look at you. If anything I'm underdressed." She smiled at him, taking ahold of his hand.

"Just trust me, this won't be our last date after all..."

The forth Sunday was unforgettable.

After going out with each other for 2 weeks, it was evident that the two were very much interested in one another.

Because of this, Leon asked (Name) to be his girlfriend. It was clear that things could only get better from there, their relationship near perfect already as is.

With Leon close to graduating and joining the police force and (Name) constantly staying up to write and draft her stories, they did reach some rocky ends of their relationship. The separation they had made the two drift apart ever so slowly. Maybe they were two different people and didn't see it. Maybe they weren't meant to be as much as they believed they were.

Nonetheless, they were willing to make it work. Sunday turned to be the day they vowed to be together, regardless of how much work and time they had devoted outside of their busy lives.

Sunday was the day they had their date nights, the day where they could stay in and be in each other's arms. They longed for nothing more than the simple ways of being with one another.

Before, Leon had hated Sunday's, as it disturbed his weekend with the majority of his work at the cafe. Deadlines were also often due the next day for his college classes, alongside have to train at night to become a police officer. It was the day that previously derived the most stress from him.

But, after meeting (Name) he learned to love them. It turned from being the one day he hated in a week to the single day he looked forward to. He cherished the moments they had every single Sunday.

As for (Name), her Sundays with Leon turned to be the inspiration for first published short story. She began to see and write of how different her life would be, had the one person she came to love not be within it.

And eventually, Leon Kennedy proposed to (Name) (Surname) on a rainy, Sunday evening, with a heavy downpour, that would mark the day that they would be together for all of their eternity.

Sunday night, the first Sunday after they had gotten married. (Name) was restless. After discovering newfound information, in which she would tell Leon in the morning, she was jubilant, too full of endorphins to even begin to get shut eye.

She picked up her laptop, opening to the blank document that had been staring at her for days on end. Taking a deep breath, she smiled softly, Leon sleeping at her side. Brushing her fingers through his hair, she stared at her screen.

Finally, she picked her fingers up, beginning to type:

"The first Sunday of the new month..."
