Cat and Dog - Piers Nivans x Crybaby! Reader x Jake Muller

"Agh... Somebody save me!!!"

"Stop arguing!!" You exclaimed, tears pricking in the corners of your eyes, sandwiched in between the two boys. No matter how much you tried for Piers and Jake to get along, they never did. It always was discerning to see them constantly at each other's tails. Piers glared at Jake, while Jake held his cold stare right back.

"You made her cry, what the hell is wrong with you?!" Piers yelled at Jake, trying to get his hands on him. You held him back, but Jake inching closer didn't help the situation. 

Piers and you were spending time together at the BSAA office until Sherry dropped by with Jake. Sherry had to drop off her recent findings to Chris and Leon. Both Sherry and Jake were inseparable when it came to working, but unbeknownst to you, Jake just wanted to see you. He knew Piers was going to be there trying to steal you away, and he wouldn't lose to that Shiba Inu boy.

"It was you that made her cry, you damn puppy." he snarled, Pier's progressively getting angry because of the nicknamed used. Piers pried himself away from you, moving you to the side gently, as he rushed forward and took a swing at the mercenary. Jake dodged it and tackled Piers on the floor. What a nightmare!!

You put your face in your hands, beginning to cry more. It was then you felt yourself being pulled into a pair of arms, stroking your hair and shushing you. Sherry. You put your head on her shoulder, while she guided you to sit on one of the chairs. She checked your face for any marks and wiped away remaining tears. 

"What the hell is wrong with you two?!" You heard Chris shout, holding Piers with his arms behind his back. Jake was being held by Leon, and the two men were having a stare off. It was evident nobody was happy with the situation, and Piers was the first one dragged away by his captain shouting vulgar names towards the cat. 

Jake on the other end was smirking. He felt a small victory when he saw Nivans being dragged away like a little dog.  But, upon seeing your sad face, he made his way towards you with a small frown. He didn't want to make you cry, that was the least of his intent.

"(Y/N)... Hey," he began, "Don't cry, please, I'm sorry-"

"No your not... You and Piers. You two always fight. And I'm sick of it! I just want you two to get along." You interrupted the man, sniffling and looking up towards him. 

He bit his lip, trying to crack a small smile.

"I guess we're just like a cat and dog huh?"

Looking downcast towards your lap, you gave a small nod and fumbled with your fingers. Taking your hands into his, he tilted your gaze up towards him and looked you in the eyes. Sherry took the small hint, as she stood and walked away with a small smile gracing her face.

For a while, she had known Jake had feelings for you, and just wanted him to be happy. She knew Jake and how he was a great guy, hoping deep away you would feel the same for him.

"I guess Nivans and I only fight a lot because... I just- I guess I really like you, (Y/N)..." He placed a small kiss on your forehead, which rendered a small gasp to pass from your lips. 

"He's a big competition to me," he concluded while letting go of your hands. Turning his back, he proceeded to open the door, saying one last thing before walking out:

"Meet me by the rooftops if you feel the same. 9 o'clock." Jake turned his head past his shoulder, giving you a warm smile while closing the door behind him. His confession left you dumbfounded, tears continuing to eat away from your eyes.
