The Distorted Truth

A picture,
In it two men.
Both soldiers.
Both bloody,
and both beaten.
one on his knees, his head bowed.
The other stands tall amd proud.
Gun against
his rival's head.

But which of the two is bad?
Surely, the one with the gun,
his finger itching to pull the trigger.
Because he will kill a man -
surely, he's the bad guy, right?

But you know not
what the kneeling man has done.
how he had beat a young girl to death,
and then shot her family dead.

So, who's good and who's bad?
we don't really always know.
Because all that is seen
is not always what it seems.
So judge not by what you see
as there are always
two sides to one story.
