November 2019
. . .
Rose, Lisa, and Jennie were staring at her teary-eyed.
"Stop it," Jisoo scolded. She threw napkins at the girls and said, "You're going to ruin your makeup."
"But unnie," Lisa mumbled, dabbing her eyes. "You're so beautiful."
"Of course," Jisoo answered, adjusting her dress. "It's my wedding day. I'm supposed to be the most beautiful person today."
"I can't believe you're getting married," Jennie said.
"It's only for a show," Jisoo said, glancing at the camera consciously.
Because of Got7's comeback, they had to push the wedding until the first week of November, which was today. She was getting married today. She. Was. Getting. Married. Today.
She was rehearsing her wedding vows, reciting the lines in front of her friends to ask if it's okay. She composed it the weeks before the wedding, making sure it was specific yet vague enough to fit her situation with Jinyoung.
Jinyoung,
Today, I promise you this: I will laugh with you in times of joy, and comfort you in times of sorrow. I will share in your dreams and support you as you strive to achieve your goals.
I will listen to you with compassion and understanding, and speak to you with encouragement. Together, let us build a home filled with learning, laughter and light, shared freely with all who may live there.
I will trust you and have faith in your promise through our days.
. . .
"What if I mess up?"
The wedding march had started just a moment ago. Lisa and Rose already left the tent with Dalgom for the bridal procession.
"No you won't," Jennie said, reassuring her. "And so what if you do? This is your wedding. Just be yourself."
Jennie gave her a hug before leaving to march down the aisle.
All alone, Jisoo was left with her thoughts. She looked one more time at the mirror.
Her simple gown was an off-shoulder, long-sleeved lace dress that flowed softly in the wind. Her hair fell delicately in ringlets down her shoulders and was decorated with tiny white flowers. She looked the part – she looked like a real bride.
This is it.
Jisoo took a deep breath and stepped out of the tent.
It was perfect. Got7's Let Me was playing softly in the background, setting the perfect feeling for the moment. Her heart was racing, but her spirit was calm. She smiled at the friends she saw in the crowd as she walked.
WGM's staff. PD-nim. They were waving at her, smiling as they did.
Manager-nim. Her staff, her stylist, Blackpink's backup dancers. They were with her during her debut, and now, they here to witness her get fake-married.
Jackson, Jaebum, Mark, Youngjae, Bambam and Yugyeom. Her new friends and – Jinyoung joked once – soon to be adopted sons. They giggled and teased Jinyoung as she got closer.
Jennie, Lisa, Rose. Her friends. Her sisters. They all looked lovely in white dresses with orange and yellow accents. And finally -
Jinyoung.
