Kim Jisoo, will you go out with me?

Jinyoung literally felt the cringe deep in his soul. He can't believe he did that during a live broadcast on national television.

The boys are never going to this die down. He was going to be teased until the day he dies.

It was just a spur of the moment - it was the perfect opportunity to ask her out. Maybe it was because he spent all night watching fan edit videos of Jisoo's admirers. It made him slightly possessive and jealous even though he had no reason to be.

Take that, all her other admirers, he thought. That girl is mine.

He may not be the most handsome, or the tallest, or the most talented idol out there, but he got the girl. He felt like dancing from the joy.

And now, he's embarrassed himself by asking her out in front of the whole world. It's a good thing she likes him back - he can't imagine the embarrassment of being rejected.

His phone buzzed all night long, but he had no time to answer any of the calls or check the messages.

It was almost 11 in the evening when he collapsed on his bed. He took out his phone.

Soyoung-noona: 19 missed calls

Jinyoung sighed. Oh boy, he was in for a long night. Of course, his sisters always watched all his broadcasts. They were his biggest fans. They've surely seen tonight's episode.

He called her back - she answered it before the first ring ended.

"Jireongie! Jireongie!"

"Ah, noona," Jinyoung answered back.

"Eomma wants to talk to you-"

"Jinyoungie!" His mother's wails filled the earpiece. "My baby is now a man-"

"Eomma!" Boyoung screamed from behind. "Don't cry, you'll get the phone wet -"

"Jinyoung-ah," he heard his father say.

"Appa," Jinyoung greeted, suddenly nervous. His father wasn't always affectionate. He pushed Jinyoung to always do his best.

He remembered the time his father told him to give up his dreams of being an idol because he was lazy during dance practice. It made him work harder until he was best.

He owed everything to his parents.

"I saw the broadcast," his father said.

Jinyoung's heart pounded against his chest. "Yea?"

He heard his father sigh. "Do your best, son. You're old enough to know what's right and what's not. Your sisters have met her already, but me and mom haven't yet. Bring her here, alright?"

"Yes, appa," Jinyoung answered, letting out a sigh of relief.

"Jinyoung-ah," Soyoung said. The noise died down - his sister probably went inside her room. "When you told me you're going to ask her out soon, I didn't think you'd do it on TV."

"I didn't either, noona," he breathed. "It just came out."

"That must be so embarrassing. Just make sure you treat her well," she scolded. "I like her."

"Yes, noona."

"I'm glad you're able to fix things," Soyoung said after a while.

"Me, too," Jinyoung admitted. "But it doesn't matter to me. I'll still go after her even if she's not sure. I'll chase her until she's sure she loves me, too."

"Aigoo," his noona said. "Our little Jireongie is now a man. Bring her home as soon as possible, okay?"

He chuckled. "I will. Soon, I hope."

Jinyoung sighed happily as Soyoung-noona hung up. When they visited Jinhae-gu for WGM, his sisters immediately fell in love with Jisoo. She just has that effect on everyone. He could tell his mom would like her as well - Jisoo was the kind of girl your parents would approve of.

He's sure she'll even captivate his dad, a gruff man with few affections to give out.

He can't want to take her to his hometown.

He can't wait for her to see the cherry blossoms there.

He can't wait to finally date her for reals.

He can't wait to propose to her.

He can't wait to marry her and have ten kids -

Before he dug himself into another bout of daydreaming with thoughts of Jisoo, he checked his inbox for more messages.

Eunkwang-hyung: Boi! Salute to your brave soul!

Doyoung-ah: Hyung! Congratulations! I knew it, you and noona are meant to be together. HWAITING!

Sooya-hyung: YA PARK JINYOUNG. YOU ARE SO DEAD. I'M GOING TO RIP YOUR EARS OFF AND I'M GOING TO TWIST YOUR HEAD.

Jinyoung snickered.

He bravely typed in his reply to Jisoo, pressed send, and promptly went to sleep.

Go out with me first, then you can twist my head off.

. . .

The following days were torture. Everyone kept teasing him - Got7, his managers, the choreographers, even the other JYP groups teased him as they passed him by.

Nayeon kept calling him brother-in-law and all the other girls from Twice kept snickering at him.

Even JYP sent flowers to their dorm.

Jinyoung groaned as he stared at the huge bouquet with JYP's face printed on a stick.

Congratulations! Don't mess up - no scandals!

He took the flowers and placed them in the a vase on top of their dorm's dining table. He took the printed photo of JYP out and posted it on Mark's door.

. . .

After a particularly tiring day of filming and rehearsing, Jinyoung could barely even change into his pajamas.

Now that he was back from the military, he can't help but compare his experience there and the life of an idol. They were both equally tiring, but in some ways, the life of an idol adds more stress. In the military, he trusted his instincts and survival skills, uncaring what he looked like and how he's perceived. But being an idol is all about image.

Aside from all the dancing and the singing, he had to take care of his image as well. He has to be conscious of all his movements, all the things he says.

He was so thankful that Got7 is the kind of group that isn't afraid of showing how silly they can be. He has friends from other groups who are restricted from doing silly things because their management forbids them to.

His phone buzzed, signalling a text just arrived.

He fought his drowsiness, languidly crawling over to his bedside table as he checked the message.

Park Jinyoung-ah, this is Kim Jisoo. I'm saying yes to the date. I have one special request - let's eat chicken, alright?
