one foot, then the other. he made his way into the unknown environment. it was hot, very hot.

he stood on a path made of gravely red rocks and overlooking an overcomplicated metal structure sitting in a pool of lava.

the skeleton stared. the voice was still yelling profanities at him, plus the white noise sounding in the back of his sockets wasn't making his situation any more comprehensible.

he rubbed his sockets and sat down in front of the metal structure.

he let out a shaky breath and decided to try and relax.

he heard footsteps

a child wandered up to him.

they held a burnt frying pan and seemed to be wandering around without intention.

their gazes met and the child stopped.

"sans?" the child asked, unsure.

the skeleton grunted and looked down, starting to fiddle with the loose pieces of gravel beside him.

"...sans what happened to you? you're... so cold"

the child reached out to touch the skeleton on the shoulder, hopefully with good intention.

the skeleton did not know this.

the child's hand wrapped around the odd-looking skeleton's shoulder.

as soon as the childs hand made contact with the skeleton, if not sooner, the skeleton's shoulder broke into green codes and blue grids, all the while fuzzing around the child's shaking hand.

it was very uncomfortable for both of them.

the skeleton was scared, to say the least. the skeleton thought the child meant to harm and to cause disruption. they were playing with his very existence after all.

the skeleton grabbed the child's hand and pulled them across him, so they fell over his lap. he tied them up with his cables and let them dangle in the air. Ignoring the fact that most of his being had broken up and his vision was clouded with grids and pixels.

he heard the voice screaming at him. "put the child down you error!" as well as the child sobbing.

with voices screaming at him from all directions and his vision covered with code, it quickly became too much for him.

"SHuT uP!" he yelled, seemingly to himself. he squeezed the sides of his head and bent down. everything was silent. "w-who are you?" the child screamed, tears still running down their face, the frying pan left forgotten on the ground.

the word 'error' kept reappearing in his mind. "ErRor." the skeleton answered.

he twitched his fingers and a bright red glowing heart came into view. it was the most beautiful this Error had come across in all of his 'life'. He loved the way it sat there and glowed brightly in his hand.

he cupped his hands around the hear carefully and yanked it towards him. he could hear something snap and the child went limp. he opened a portal to where he came from and walked through, still staring at the soul in his hands.

Error smiled. it wasn't a nice one though. I was a nasty one, full of greed and want.

he strung it up and it dangled high above head.

he wanted more.

let's get this show on the road, shall we?
