Chapter Thirty-One
Joel's POV
Her eyes start off by analyzing every inch of my skin and I feel goosebumps rise across my body. I feel myself turn hot as she seems to look at things no one else can perceive. Her hand begins to draw on a piece of clear paper, her pencil flowing so gently and precisely its soothing.
Her lips part slightly and rubs them together before glancing back up and finishing my face shape after a few more strokes of her pencil. The light coming in from the window falls on her face and her green eyes seem to soften and brighten at the same time; her skin appeared to be glowing as a result of the sunshine.
A soft sigh slips from my lips at the sight of her slightly flushed cheeks and concentrated gaze. She looks up at the noise and tilts her head, "Is everything okay?" I nod at her question and smile, "Everything is great."

"Do you like it?" she asks nervously.
Still at a loss for words, I simply look up and nod quickly. "I mean, yes, wow I love it," I say in awe at physically seeing what I looked like in her eyes. My face was mine but it also had certain features I hadn't noticed before, ones that she had apparently taken into account.
"This is amazing, Blu," I murmur as my eyes flicker up to hers just to see her smile at my words. "Thanks," she replies barely above a whisper.
We stay quiet for a few seconds before her phone goes off and she turns around to go look at the notification that had just come through. While she does that I place her drawing of me on my nightstand where it won't get damaged.
"Shit," she mumbles making me turn around to figure out what was wrong. She types something on her phone and bites on the nail of her thumb as she waits for a response.
"Is everything alright?" I ask her tentatively, furrowing my eyebrows. Blu looks over at me just as she gets a reply and her focus returns to her phone. She sighs and glances at the message one more time before locking it and making me the sole owner of her attention.
"Sorry, somebody just said something stupid," she explains. I nod once in understanding but the reply isn't enough to satisfy my curiosity. "Who?" I ask while I take a couple of steps to be in closer proximity to her.
I see her internally debate whether or not she should disclose the name of the person in the way she shifts her weight to one leg and folds her arms behind her back. "Yoandri," she breathes out. I feel my jaw clench and I clear my throat after a moment of seething.
"What did he say?"
"That's none of your concern."
"Isn't it?"
"I don't see how it would be."
"It is if you're in my room, in my house."
"Then I'll leave. There, problem solved," she replies with a sharp tone.
I frown at her response and stand in the doorway before she can get out and escape my interrogation. "I really can't stand you sometimes," I say as I challenge her.
"So sit down," she snaps back.
Her shoulder drives into mine as she passes me and her eyes don't leave mine for a second. I follow her down the stairs, refusing to let her leave so easily. "Can you please just tell me?"
"Omgosh, he just said that he doesn't want me to hang out with you so frequently," she groans in frustration. She tilts her body so I see her side and her back is facing the stairs to the right.
"And what did you reply?" I ask inquisitively.
She sucks her teeth, "I said he shouldn't be caring that hard."
"I thought you chose him, shouldn't he be caring even harder?"
Blu stops for a second and I see her look at me hard, her eyes searching for something she couldn't quite find.
"Right," she replies after taking a breath. She turns on her heels and this time when she leaves I let her go freely.
