The man, just finishing a fight that would make any man nauseous, stepped on the corpse and pulled out his knife. Mean while, the girl which had been attacked by the monster moments before looked up, fear evident on her eyes and asked a single, yet obvious question.

"Who are you?" was the single question she asked, the hooded figure, wiped the blood away, then looked back at her then answer.

"Gehrman, the first hunter" A single and short sentence, yet it had so much meaning to it.

She looked back at her agonizing teammate and then wondered 'How could this have happened' she remembered that morning, everything looked so... bright. It was almost as if it was a distant dream.

That morning, adventurer's guild

"That is it for the registration, can you read and write?" The receptionist asked, her voice cheery and bright.

"I learned to do so in the temple, I was expecting it to be more complex than that?" The same girl we saw before was there, her voice sweet, unlike before.

"I have heard that before." She said and a slight chuckle followed, she then continued
"What you can do now is either go to clear sewers, which is a lot safer than going to slay goblins." She said with real worry in her voice, she would not way this but the amount of people that actually came back from slaying goblins in their first time was very low. But as if destiny was already written, someone else talked.

"Hey you are a priests, right?" A boy, his armor beign just a leather attire talked. He had a sword on his side, pointing that he was a sword man. Said girl nodded before he continued "We were going to slay some goblins, but we need a priest to continue. We were wondering if you would join us?" On cue, the other members of the party stepped forward, two in fact. One was a female that produced a aura of strength, her hair tied a ponytail, most likely to get it out of the way. The other one, a female too, had wizard attires, a pointy hat and had a staff made of wood.

The priest thought back on what the receptionist had just said, she was right, but still. She wanted to become a true adventurer as fast a possible, besides. How difficult could it be to slay some goblins, they look reliable.

With a determined smile she answered "Yes!"

The receptionist could not help but worry, this happened all the time. She wondered if it would be like last time. She tried to make them change their minds as 'He' would surely take the job, but alas, they did not listen.

TIME SKIP TO CAVE

They stood before the cave that the report said held the goblins. It was in the afternoon, yet the light seemed to not enter the cave. Leaving a black, pit of darkness before them. Both literally and figuratively they were going in blind, thank to the rush of events, they had no time to collect info on the enemy. It could be very dangerous and the priest knew it, but her teammates seemed to not care at all. And while it was true that goblins were the weakest of creatures, they had the odd custom of teaming with other monsters, as such going in could be pretty bad as they could be teaming with bigger, more dangerous monsters. yet, they were going in.

Their strategy, which was recommended by the priest, consisted on going in in a single file, which would make it so if they were to encounter a strong monster they could run back, making it easier to escape.

Even so, at the end they separated, and with some strange trick, they managed to trap them and attack form behind, making it so they could not run so easily.

The goblins appeared from behind, staggering and surprising the mage and the priest. The mage managed to fire a fireball at one of the goblins, killing it, but as soon as she went to cast another the goblins pounded on her, getting her on the ground. She watched helplessly as the goblins took away her staff and broke it in two. The mage struggled to get out of the goblin's hold, but was cut short when one of the goblins stabbed her on the stomach. The other two crew members, hearing the commotion, went to the the other two's aid, but were too late, as the mage had already suffered injury.
