VII: Wattpad Next Beta

So lagi lumalabas sa newsfeed ko at sa notif ko ang tungkol sa bagong trial update ng watty.

Wattpad Next Beta. Ano nga ba talaga ang punto nito?

Ito na ba ang biggest progress o greatest downfall ng app?

So most of the posts that I've read are clearly against this new trial program.  Pero bago kayo ngumawa I'd like to say that this is a TRIAL for a reason.

Limitado pa lang ang mga kwento na nagre-require ng wattpad coins para mabasa ng buo. Higit sa lahat I don't think that most people truly understand the logic behind these wattpad coins.

I am a reader so I understand a readers take on this matter. I am also a novice writer struggling to improve my craft and rise above the norms. Kaya naman medyo double blade ang update na ito para sa 'kin.

Mas malaking part sa 'kin ang isang avid reader. I do think that this update is a shot towards the right direction. Oh 'di ba echosera no?

I do get that most of you are not in favor of needing to buy a story online because duuuhh pera ang pinag-uusapan natin dito. Hindi naman 'yan hinuhukay lang sa likod ng bahay.

I think it's fine. I mean hindi na bago ang apps in purchase sa mundo guys. We spend money on mobile and video games, we spend money to remove ads on premium apps and they cost a hell lot more than wattpad coins.

So bale kung maging successful ang wattpad next beta, ang biggest cheapest deal is 230 coins for 185 pesos. Kulang kulang isang piso. Bawat chapter ay 3 watty coins. Tatlong piso bes. Gumagastos ka nga ng 199 para sa skins, reso, at premium sa iba't-ibang site eh kumpanya lang ang pinapayaman mo.

It will also be a challenge for discovered writers to try and be better in their craft to give us QUALITY literature because we pay for it. Also sabi ng iba, ba't mo pa bibilhin sa watty edi naghintay na lang daw ng hard copy. Fair enough. I think that is also a great mindset. You see kung ganito ang mindset ng avid readers, writers will always have a fixed market for their books in paperback. Kasi nga marami na ang naghihintay at malaki na ang demand sa hard copy. Mabubuhay nang muli ang negosyo ng local publishing. Isn't that great?

Isa pa, para sa mga undiscovered writers na may substance ang gawa and their stories aren't featured for the beta project, para sa 'kin malaki ang opportunity nalumawak ang audience mo. Dahil una may iba na hindi willing magbayad ng coins kaya maghahanap sila ng reading material sa same genre na free. Mas magiging distributed na ang readers. Hindi 'yong kung sino lang ang nasa taas sila na lang lagi.

Kapag may bayad na ang ibang books mababasa mo pa rin naman ang mga unang chapters. Kagaya sa webnovel. Kaya may chance ka na kilalanin ang kwento at obserbahan ang quality at writing style ng author. Ngayon kung alam mong sikat siya pero jeje naman ang mga unang chapters o 'di kaya mali-mali ang grammar malamang 'di mo na bibilhin 'di ba? Doon ka sa kahit 'di kasikatan pero alam mo may kalidad.

It is a great challenge for both readers and writers no doubt. I think that this new update will even out the playing field for all stories no matter the background no matter the genre. It will also ensure that you have the power to choose a quality reading material and at the same time help the writers start a career in producing publication worthy pieces.

Ayaw niyo ba 'yon?  Dati nga nakaabot pa ako ng time na nanghihingi ng sponsor sa load ang mga writers para lang maka-update. Eh ito 2-3 pesos per chapter siya bes. At tentative pa 'yan.

Oh ayan may isa pa akong point na ishe-share. Issue na rin ngayon ang mga batang paslit na nagbabasa ng erotica kahit ilang beses mo na pagsabihan na bawal nga sa bata. Aminin niyo minsan na kayo naging ganyan. Ako ganyan din eh.

Ngayon may ibang critics na sinisisi ang influence ng nga sikat ng writers dahil parang wala lang sa kanila na mostly na nag-a-acess ng mga kwentong ito ay minors. Eh hindi naman nila kontrolado kung sino ang nagbabasa. Kaya nga readers discretion 'di ba?

Ngayon kung ang mga bigating stories ay may bayad na, syempre ang magbabayad lang diyan ay ang mga afford at talagang pursigido magbasa right? Eh ikaw kung bata ka huhu na lang kasi 'di ka pa kumikita ng pera mo at kakarampot pa lang ang ipon.

This ensures that stories with very sensitive topics to takle are marketed only to the people who are either matured enough to handle it or determined and curious enough to know it. Isa rin itong challenge para sa mga erotica writers kung kakayanin din ba nila magsulat ng de kalidad na kwento at hindi puro sa eutan lang umiikot. Kasi nga binabayaran na.

To sum it up we just need to understand that this is only a trial run. BETA nga ang tawag eh. I don't like spending money but I still spend it over stupid things online tbh. Ngayon may chance na tayong lahat na gastusin ang perang iyan para sa quality literature and at the same time directly support the people behind the stories that we admire.

We should at least take time to process it first before deliberately disagreeing to it. It will be a trial period to see if there is room for adjustments before implementing it as a whole. Huwag tayong G na G agad at ngawa ng ngawa eh 'di naman pala alam ang background at patutunguhan ng update na ito.
