Jonas had really gotten himself into a pickle, not one necessarily that he couldn't handle. But it was something he would rather not have run into. Goblins a whole lot of them, all he was supposed to was escort a wagon to its safe destination. But no! No there had to be goblins, such ugly green creatures, they held small swords in their hands as they were all around Jonas. Goblins weren't ones to plan... Usually which he could use to his advantage.
The... Most decorated goblin as you could put it, wore a bird skull and had tribal accessories on its neck. The leader most likely, goblins hierarchy was different, during the era, the only type of known hierarchy's were dictatorships and chiefs, Ogre's Adapting the chief tradition from humans... Or the other way around... Both goblins and orcs didn't really care about eating human flesh, they would eat a human if hungry enough. Goblins had a weird hierarchy system, the leaders of a group of goblins since they generally didn't like living in cities and instead lived in small camps was run by the baddest goblin, whichever killed the most. Whichever goblin had the most combat infamy essentially.
Jonas weighed his chances, holding the two dual axes in his hands. He could take the goblins, long as he was careful and didn't let them get a surprise attack off on him. One of the goblins made a grunting noise and looked to one of the others before smiling, rotten teeth with holes that flies buzzed in and out of. It was a wretched sight a goblin smiling, often made the unlucky one who saw it nauseous.
One of the other goblins, a small dagger in its hand moved towards Jonas and swung, cackling like a hyena with its dark, raspy and impish voice. Jonas scoffed almost amused that the goblin thought it could down him with a dagger when he had dual axes and swung at the fiend. The axes slam through the goblins side with the satisfying sound of metal meeting flesh. Sliced right through its skinny body it did, leaving the foolish goblin attacker deceased and split in half.
"There's no use reasoning with them" Jonas muttered to himself, goblins didn't understand the human language nor would care if they did, they were evil, vile creatures. Creatures that would take pleasure of murdering and feasting upon an innocent child, or simply stealing from a passing wagon, usually after killing everyone nearby it.
Goblins took pleasure in the art of war, and the only God they followed was one of death. The goblins cackled at the death of their fallen comrade, almost as if it was some sort of sick, twisted, and diabolical joke. Once the goblins stopped cackling they converged on Jonas, weapons drawn, maniacal twisted and unsettling grins, upon their ugly disfigured green faces.
Jonas retaliated swinging the dual blades at the ones closest to him as he was assaulted from in front and to the side. The dual Axes decapitating and or severing the goblins bodies in half, goblins were pretty much skin and bone so the two points were great weak spots. One goblin clawed at Jonas's arm and cackled digging into Jonas's soft skin and through the fabric of his clothes. "Son of a-!" Jonas threw the goblin to the ground and sliced its head off with a satisfying sound.
The goblin with the bird skull on its head, twitched as it cackled dementedly taking steps around Jonas, that's when he noticed the blade as the goblin went for his throat, it was a silver dagger dipped in poison, even if the victim would survive the attack they would die shortly from the poison on the serrated blade.
Jonas instinctively moved out of the way, the dagger narrowly missing him and when he swung this time one of his dual axes got stuck in the bone armor the goblin wore, giving the goblin opportunity to use his mistake to attack, the goblin clawing at his face since it had fumbled and dropped the dagger.
Jonas felt a sharp stinging pain come from his right cheek as the goblins long way outgrown fingernails clawed his cheek drawing blood. A fatal mistake the goblin made dropping the dagger, however, he wasn't going to walk out unharmed with the deep scratches now on his body from both failed to dodge attacks. He took his other dual axe and swung again this time for the goblins neck, taking the goblins entire neck off.
Jonas panted as he pulled the axes from the goblins body and the ground. "Life couldn't just let this be a easy escort" he wiped a bead of sweat away that trickled down his face and he began to escort the wagon again. This time he would reach the destination without issues.
