The sun shone through the window of the tavern room illuminating it, the entire room wasn't covered by the light that shone through the window so some parts of the room were still darker, almost like shadows to the light parts of the room. Jess didn't really want to wake up, to be honest, she could sleep in for a few more hours but the sunlight hitting the bed and her eyes awoke her from her slumber causing her to sit up and yawn tiredly.
The chair was still wedged to where the doorknob would turn but the door itself would be unopenable and it seemed that no one had tried to get in, during the night. The room must not have been rented off. Which was good on her behalf, means she didn't have to wake up in the middle of the night to make a daring and dramatic exit. What she had a bit of. Dramatic flair one could say at times.
She pushed herself out of bed leaving the soft fabric behind as she stood, she felt like she could just fall back onto the bed and be asleep in mere seconds but the sun had risen which meant many opportunities in her work as a thief. Besides going back to sleep would be a waste of such a beautiful day, she could already hear the bustling in the streets, horses hooves clicking against the ground as higher class people such as nobles were carried by chariots, along with other people who were lucky enough to afford a horse. Her if she needed to get to a faraway place she would just steal a horse but then again she was a thief and that's what she did.
She remembered when she was a child, she absolutely loved horses. She would go to the stables or watch as people navigate through town on the back of the majestic creatures. Well, they were majestic in her eyes back then. Even if she did get a permanent horse its not like she would have somewhere to keep the animal. The money she was stealing she was saving up for better things, the same reason why she stole food instead of purchasing it in the markets. She wanted to save up for a house and some land, a permanent place to stay. Maybe once she had accomplished that goal she could get a horse of her own and resort to less thievery.
She of course, however, being a thief had a knack for pissing people off and it got her in bad situations and gave her more and more problems to deal with or run from. She ran from a lot of things... She didn't usually face her problems since it was easier to simply run.
Jess headed out the window as if she went down to the bottom floor she surely would be spotted by the tavern owner and that would provoke another problem entirely. However, when she reached the ground after parkouring dramatically down she felt a hard object hit her on the side of the head. "Ow!" She fell to the ground holding her head, a piece of leftover wood from some sort of building? She picked up the wood to look at it only for someone to speak.
"That's for throwing something at me earlier" it was temperance and she had a amused smile on her face as this was her retaliation for earlier events. She had literally just picked up the closest thing she saw on the ground and chucked it at jess's head. Jess was lucky it wasn't the brick or rather large rock lying about and the closest or else she might have been out cold, or with a much worse headache than the one she had just received.
"You again, well I guess we are just throwing toys now, how childish" Jess got up holding her head. "I only threw something earlier so I could make an exit"
"The more childish part is you still have toys, see I don't play with toys nor throw them like a bratty child" temperance remarked smirking "besides I literally told you to leave you didn't have to throw something at me to leave" the next part came out as more of an agitated growl.
Jess shrugged. "Says the one throwing stuff, and do that and miss out at the chance to be dramatic" she smiled leaning back on her shoes and tossed her hood over her head. "Anyways goodbye I have a long busy day ahead of me. This is not how I envisioned my morning, getting wood chucked at my head. So now ill get on with how I envisioned it."
Temperance grimaced she swore the girl was a bit cocky, it irritated her and made her want to give her a reason not to be cocky. She tightened her fist till it turned a pearly white color. "I highly doubt it will just get back on track, but I would rather not deal with you" her emerald eyes glanced around as she was in thought. "I have better things to do than socialize with thieves."
"But I'm the best person to socialize with," Jess said in a joking manner and hummed. "Couldn't agree more just as I have better things to do than deal with you." With a hmph, she walked off. She most likely would just walk around town until she found the best place to steal from, it wasn't unusual as many rogues walked around in similar clothing to thieves and so did many others who just didn't want to be noticed.
Since no one had really seen jess's face cause she was good at keeping that from happening, well except for her failure last night when she was sneaking through that window but that didn't matter anymore.. Past is in the past.
