Badger laughed as he ran through the streets of Volurani, his best friend, Raina, running after him.
"Badger wait!" Raina shouted, holding an arm out to grab his arm.
"Keep up slow poke" Badger continued to run. In Volurani, the town was under the protection by wolves, snow wolves to be exact, known as The Guard. Once a year, they hold a ceremony that would see if the children, who must be twelve or over, would become a wolf, not all are able but those who are, become one of the guard.
At the moment, Volurani and Demonogic, a dragon kingdom, are at war. The ceremony is tomorrow, Badger and Raina don't wish to go, but both their parents are forcing them to.
Raina smirked, hiding inside of an alley.
"Raina?" Badger asked, turning around, not being able to see his blonde haired friend anywhere.
"Raina!" He shouted, running over to where he saw her last.
Raina smirked, throwing a snow ball at the back of his head. Badger spun around, eyes wide.
"Who threw that!" He shouted. Raina laughed, running out and tackling him into the snow.
Badger let out a yelp as he hit the snow. Raina laughed, looking down at the black haired boy.
"Got ya" She smirked. Badger shook his head and laughed.
"Yeah" He said, "Now get off."
Raina laughed, rolling off him into the white snow.
"Raina!" Raina heard her mother call.
"I have to go" Raina sighed, "See you at the ceremony." And with that, she left into a small, red bricked house with a dark oak door and two windows out the front. Tomorrow is going to be a long day.
