If You Remember

.: Chapter Eight :.

Raina stared at him, her eyes dark. She looked almost the same, just a couple of scars on her face.

"Maybe, who's asking?" She snarled.

Badger gasped, she didn't remember him.

"I-It's me," He stuttered, "B-Badger."

Raina scoffed, looking into his grey eyes.

"Badger is dead." She growled.

Badger froze.

W-what?

"He died a long time ago." Then, she walked off.

Synex walked up to him, putting her hand on his shoulder.

"You ok?" She asked.

Badger collapsed to his knees, his face in his hands.

"She doesn't remember me!" He roared.

Synex tilted her head, her soft side coming out.

"Who was she?" She asked softly.

Badger looked up at her.

"Her name is Raina, she was my best friend until the ceremony," He began explaining, "She turned into a dragon and I turned into a wolf, the rest is history."

Synex sighed, helping him to his feet.

"Come on, let's go."

The two began walking in silence. The streets were quiet and Badger didn't feel right, as if his wolf was trying to claw its way to the surface.

Synex looked at him.

"Your wolf wants to come out doesn't he?" She asked.

Badger nodded stiffly.

"A-And its..." He growled, "Annoying!"

Synex grabbed him by the shoulders and looked him in the eyes, her brown eyes showing worry.
"Badger, you need to calm down" She urged.

Badger began to breath slowly.

"This is hard," He sighed," The wolf in me just wants to come out and kill all of these dragons!"

Synex looked over to see two guards in the corner.

"Badger," She whispered in annoyance, "Be quiet!"

Badger didn't listen.

"He just want to kill them all!" He howled.

Synex growled, pushing him into an alley way.

"Shut up!" She snarled, "You are going to alert the guards and we will be shot on the spot!"

Badger rolled his eyes and growled.

"As if," He scoffed, "They are too dumb to even- "

A guard rounded the corner.

"HALT!" He called.

Synex growled and looked at Badger.

"You little sh- "

"Language!" Badger snarled.

The guard stalked over to them.
"Who are you!" He demanded.

Synex raised her hands.

"My name is Synex," She explained, "We were welcomed into the king- I mean, city."

The guard huffed and turned to Badger.

"And you?" He asked.

The smell of a dragon burnt Badger's nose and he forced himself to speak.

"M-My name is Badger," He forced himself not to growl, "And I came here with Synex."

The guard huffed, shifting into a large pure red dragon and flying off.

Synex looked at Badger, grabbing his hand.
"Well done" She congratulated.

Badger looked down at their joined hands, his eyes wide.

Synex followed his gaze, blushing and pulling her hand away.

"Uh..." She looked forward and began walking," We better get some food and clothes."

Badger nodded and followed her to the food and clothe store.

That was strange....
