~~~Keith's pov~~~
I stared at her in complete shock what did she mean her parents were murdered? And how was she involved?
Last thing she told me was they died in a car accident.
"Yeah... Your probably thinking I'm a liar for what I said earlier, b-but... The car crash... Was planned and then they were... Shot l-leaving me alive."
"That's awful."
"Yeah. I don't remember all of it. But certain things bring back memories."
She fiddled with the zip on her jacket still not looking up at to meet my gaze and I didn't blame her she was reliving her past something that she, had no doubt, hoped she could avoid when starting at a new school.
"A-and... I-I knew it was going to h-happen. I always knew. Urggg I should never of asked to go skating that day." She grumbled putting her face into her hands.
"My dad's job was a private detective and... He solved a case and caught the leader of a gang... I knew it was s-stupid to ask but... I wanted it all to go back to the way it was a-and t-they died because of m-me..." She spluttered out as hot tears ran down her cheeks.
I quickly pulled her into a hug rubbing her back as she sobbed clinging onto my shirt.
My phone buzzed making me groan internally as I pulled it out and quickly checked it.
It's Matt. Of course it is.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Matt
Where are you? Pidge needs (y/n)'s phone.
Now is really not a good time.
Ok... What's happening?
I'll tell you when she says I can but right now drop it.
Ok...
Having Matt appear wouldn't help at all.
She pulled away slightly and I looked at her with a worried expression as she started off into space few tears staining her cheeks.
"You know it wasn't your fault right? I mean you can't tell the future so I fail to see how you can blame yourself." I said not letting her go completely.
She nodded and let a few more tears fall as she smiled up at me. "How are you so good at saying the right thing?"
"Just something Shiro is always saying to me." I chucked as she sniffled.
"Remind me to thank him one day." She sighed rubbing her eyes with the heels of her hands.
I wrapped my arms around her pulling her closer as she wrapped her arms around my torso leaning her head on my shoulder seeming calmer.
I ran a hand through her (h/c) hair, I flinched as she snapped her head around to look at me.
"S-sorry I won't do that again." I stuttered feeling stupid. I had just ruined the moment.
"No!... I like it... Would you please... k-keep doing it?" She smiled her cheeks turning a dusty pink.
"Y-yeah." I smiled back as she repositioned her head on my shoulder.
~~~No pov~~~

"Allura hold that there, Lance can you hand me a screwdriver please?" Coran said staring at something inside the computer.

"Here you go." Lance laughed as Coran waved his arm around trying to find the object in Lance's hand.

"Lance can I use your height?" Pidge called from across the room.

Lance walked over to see Shiro holding several wires looking bored and exhausted.

Pidge handed him a small box which had 3 wires coming out of it. "Hold it up as high as you can." She said pointing to the table.

Lance clambered on top and held the box above his head.

"Ok. Up.. no to the right... Lower... Lower... To the left... Higher... Hold it. Perfect." Pidge said returning to her keyboard.

Lance held the position not entirely sure what he was doing or how it was helping.

"Lance can you tell me what the speed is please? It's on that screen there." Hunk asked as he patched up a cable with duct tape.

"It's at 63% but it drops every 3 tics." He responded, his arms beginning to ache.

"Thanks. I think we have nearly got it." Hunk stood up triumphantly, but frowned looking at Lance. "Pidge can Lance put that thing down now?"

"Oh yeah sorry. Thanks Lance." Pidge smiled up at him before continuing what she was doing.

Lance gave Hunk a thankful look taking a seat and looking at the code that Pidge was glued to.

"Yes we got it." Matt smiled excitedly.

"Got what?" Keith asked reappearing in the room with (y/n) next to him.

"The virus... Wait you weren't here for that. Let me explain... No to long, let me sum up." Pidge cleared her throat turning towards both of them. "A coded virus attacked the system which is what was controlling the computers."

"But we have delt with it." Hunk said happily high fiving Matt.

"And by we he means Pidge, Matt Coran and himself." Lance smiled patting his friend on the shoulder. "Shiro, Allura and I just stood and watched."

"That's not entirely true. We couldn't have fixed it if you didn't hold up the scanner so Pidge could identify the source." Hunk said elbowing Lance in the side gently.

"Yes and Allura had much better eyesight then me." Coran smiled brightly.

"And Shiro is... Great at holding wires." Pidge cringed at her own answer gaining a pout from Shiro.

"Wow that's really good. Well done guys." (Y/n) smiled.

To the rest of the team it appeared that she was back to normal smiling and laughing at Matt and Lance. But Keith knew that would take a long time for her to feel emotionally stable enough to trust them with her whole backstory. But Keith was in no rush to prise the truth from her he trusted her and trusted that she would tell them when she was ready.

"Let's get some training in before tomorrow shall we." Shiro announced wheeling his chair back to his normal seat.

While the others jumped into their seats Keith squeezed (y/n) hand gaining a weak smile on response.
