"A dream is a wish your heart makes," Someone was singing Disney, and it wasn't Roman, which caught Logan by surprise. Usually it was Roman who'd show off frivolous displays of princely actions by singing loudly and making grand gestures to fluster Virgil in the greatest way possible. That endeavor was about as beneficial as a participation award. It really wasn't that hard to do.

No, the singing was coming from the kitchen, which was practically Patton's room by now. The father figure figment had pretty much lived there for the past few days. He'd been baking new recipes that Thomas had learned recently on top of his religious ceremony of making meals for the others to eat and baking cookies so that the others would never run out of sweet treats to eat. Logan found it unnecessary to be cooking in there so much anyway, but Patton had shook him off and promised him that cooking really did make him happy. The statement was genuine too, Logan noticed that the shape of his eyes didn't falter at the mention of his new interest and his smile was the right amount of wide and open to not be the artificial one Patton would plaster on when he was hiding his feelings, although he had been doing that less frequently and Logan was rather happy for Patton to be feeling better.

", when you're fast asleep," Patton's song snapped Logan out of his small reverie, and Logan couldn't help but smile. The song really did match Patton's personality so he understood why Morality might have slightly favored the song.

", in dreams you will lose your heartache, whatever you wish for you keep." The song was rather soothing too, which Logan found to favor too. It helped him think smoothly and helped connect the words in the papers he was reading.

"Have faith in your dreams and someday your rainbow will come smiling through." Patton must not have known Logan was stationed on the couch with his work because his singing got a little louder and a little more confident. That was around the time Logan started to smell something sweet, definitely something chocolate flavored. Probably something like brownies or cookies. Whatever it was, it was even more soothing added onto Patton's soft voice drifting through the air. In fact, Logan's eyes were starting to flutter shut, wait when did that start to happen?! Keep your focus Logan! Now is not the time for a nap! You have to get this work done before the end of the day!

"No matter how your heart is grieving, if you keep on believing," Logan didn't miss Patton's voice cracking on that verse, but in some sick and twisted way, it made the song even more complete. This song was about having hope after all, of course Patton took it's advice. ", the dream that you wish will come true."

If Patton had stopped, Logan would have been left with a bittersweet feeling. Sad because the song had fully enraptured him by now, but happy that he could finally not be lulled to sleep by something so simple as a calming song and some stupid cookies. It was illogically frustrating to be brought to sleep by something so small, but it was happening and when Patton started again, Logan mentally cursed.

"Les rêves qui sommeillent dans nos coeurs," Logan gave a start. Was that french?! Since when did Patton learn French?! However, instead of shouting and ruining the song, Logan saved his question for later. Hopefully he could  get a straight answer from Patton and not something vague like "I know big words." I.E., the infinitesimal incident.

"Au creux de la nuit, habillent nos chagrins de bonheur, dans le doux secret de l'oubli."
Logan found himself fluttering his eyes shut again which was the opposite to what he wanted, but he was so awfully sleep deprived from working a long hard night to get a deadline done even though he knew his health was more important. His head was swimming with his excuses, but his body was making a stand to tyranny for sleep, so Logan's arm went limp and draped over his lap. His exhaustion was evident now. His eyelids were unbelievably heavy, and his brain was starting to give in to the abuse he was enduring to just hurry up and fall asleep.

"Écoute ton rêve, et demain, le soleil brillera toujours, même si ton coeur a l'âme en peine, Il faut y croire quand même:, le rêve d'une vie, c'est l'amour." A slight shift in the notes to add extra pizazz into the ending was enough to push Logan over the edge and shut his eyes, and Patton's last "Même si ton coeur a l'âme en peine, Il faut y croire quand même:, le rêve d'une vie, c'est l'amour." sent him off into the world of sleep. Honestly, he didn't understand why he didn't agree to the sleep earlier.

Later, Patton would discover a sleeping Logan on the couch to which he would huff fondly at. He'd grab Logan's scattered papers and neatly stack them again to put them away on the counter in the kitchen for Logan to pick up later when he woke up later. He'd then grab a blanket and drape it over the sleeping side and press a small kiss to the crown of his head. Of course he'd never do that to Logan when he was awake, maybe one day. But for now, this would have to suffice, because Logan was sleeping and Patton wished him a good night's sleep.
