It was a normal day in the Butterfly Castle. Workers were working, servants were serving, and royals were ruling. Everybody was doing their normal job, although some were asked to go out of their way and help repair the town outside of the castle walls.
The date April 7, 2018 has been passed by 4 weeks now. The day that Meteora destroyed everything in Mewni and almost got away with it. Ever since, people have been either volunteering, forced, or paid to pitch in and help repair the kingdom. Royals and Squires were expected to help as well until everything was repaired. The Castle was first to be put back together, and was done as commanded. Most buildings and homes were put back together, there were now very few things that needed to be repaired.
However, cold weather had been sitting over top of Mewni for a while causing mild, non contagious illnesses for few people. Within the small crowd of individuals that got sick, the Queen herself, Star Butterfly; was effected. It got bad enough to get her a few days off from working at all, which was the last thing she wanted. All she could do was watch movies, sit in bed, sleep, and drink soup. She didn't even have the strength to get up to go see her best friend, so he had to come too her.
She loved how Marco would come visit her every time he was able to get a break from working on repairs. He'd come into her room while she was sleeping or watching movies and sit down next to her, talking about stuff that makes her feel so happy; but really, just hearing his voice makes her one of the most happiest mewmans in the entire universe.
It was now dark and stormy outside, which made the castle pitch black. Star was watching a film called "To All the Boys I've Loved Before", and actually enjoying it. She's not the type of person to watch any sort of Romance Comedy and actually like it, she doesn't even typically like romance movies. She was sipping some soup that the chef had brought in for her; enjoying the movie. She suddenly got startled by the sound of a knock on her door. "Who is it?" She spoke with a raspy voice. A voice from the other side of the door spoke up. "Your favorite person." She rolled her eyes and giggled. "Come in."
The door opened, revealing Marco from the other side. A soft smile spread across his face. "Aw, somebody doesn't look go- what are you watching..?" He stopped in his tracks, staring at the screen. She moved aside and patted a spot on her bed next too her, signaling marco to come sit beside her. He gently shut the door behind him , kicked off his shoes, and hopped next too Star. "It's a movie that I found called "Too All the Boys I've Loved Before" , it's a good movie so far and you're going to get comfortable and lay down right next too me." She said as she set her bowl on her night stand.
She carefully put a fluffy blanket over Marco and herself and straightened it out. She smiled warmly at Marco as he returned the favor; without thinking, she tackled Marco and pinned him down to the bed, falling right beside him and cuddling by his side. He looked at her and deeply blushed, admiring the position that they were in right now. He pulled her closer, and wrapped his arms around her torso, making sure he had a tight grip on her.
"Warm enough?" She looked up at him, but all she could see was his adorable smile. She nodded her head and played the movie. When she did, the hot tub scene was playing, but neither of them knew the amount of awkwardness about to come.
"I'm sorry I didn't sit next too you." "...It's alright." They continues to stare into each other's eyes, Peter attempted to escape her gaze, but failed. A sweet, shy smile came across his face. Lara Jean began taking her jacket off, leaving her in only a thin-strap nightgown. She lowered herself into the hot tub and slowly moved towards Peter. "Uhh.. you're coming in, in your night gown." He said awkwardly. "I-I didn't bring a bathing suit." When she reached the other side, she climbed onto Peters lap, he couldn't help but smile at her dorkiness. "Hi." Was all she said, making him smile even wider. "There's no one like you, Covey." He pulled her closer on his lap and wrapped his arms around her waist as she placed her hands on his neck. They slowly leaned in, making out as if they were the only two people in the world. At this moment, they didn't care if anybody saw them, they didn't care about anything at the moment, just them.
Marco felt his cheeks get warm, and hastily unraveled himself out of Stars grip. Star felt the same way he did right now, awkward. Star quickly grabbed the remote and paused the movie, moving to her own side of the bed. They were both now curled up in their own little ball, dying from the silence. It reminded both of them of the booth incident, that might have been one of the main reasons it was such an uncomfortable scene.
Neither of them spoke up, the sounds of rain and thunder could be heard from outside. It was already 10 and it was usually at this time that they'd both be in bed by now. But if Marco left without saying anything, it'd make him feel like a terrible person. "I-I'm Sorry, I didn't know about that scene; guess it caught me by surprise too." Star spoke up, blush covering her heart stamped cheeks. "Don't worry about it." Marco awkwardly laughed. He turned around and saw that Star was still facing the opposite way, making him greatly upset. "I-I guess I should go to bed now. I'll.. I'll see you later, Star." He got up and headed for the door.
Before he could reach the knob, a pair of arms wrapped around his torso. "No! You're gonna stay here and watch another movie with me. How about The Greatest Showman?" She poked her head around, still hugging Marco, and smiled up at him. He blushed big time, he could never look at that adorable smile and not be obsessed with it. "Hmm, I don't know. What's in it for me?" He teased. Star raises an eyebrow at him and spun him around, catching him off-guard. She pinned him against the wall with one of her hands, and the other on her hip. "Ohhh, I don't know. Quality time spent with, y'know, your crush." She gave a sly smile. Getting closer too his face. His cheeks were on fire, he was in a position that he knew he couldn't get out of.
A quick idea popped into Marcos head. He wrapped one arm around her waist, putting his hand unbearably close too her butt. He used his other hand to gently touch her face, causing her to almost pass out. "Well, if you don't shut up. Maybe I'll kiss my crush." He loved play-flirting with her, he actually did it quite a bit. They were both deeply blushing but had tons of confidence in this moment.
"Bet." She sternly spoke with her raspy voice. His eyes widen, that was the last thing he'd expect her to say in a situation like this. "B-but.. aren't you sick?" Star chuckled, still in Marcos grasp. "Of course, but it's not contagious. What? Are you afraid to do so? Admit it. You'd never-HMPH!" Marco got fed up with her trash talk. He grabbed her waist and forcefully pulled her in.
Her lips were warm and soft, just like he remembered. He craved her lips all the time, and now he's finally got them again. Star gripped onto his hoodie, pulling him in for more. They both longed for a moment like this. The kiss lasted a minute or so, until Marco pulled back gasping for air, blush covering his cheeks. Star pulled down on his hoodie as she whimpered, begging for more. He chuckled and pecked her lips once more.
"Bet."
