Aaliyah.

I had been running around all day looking for an outfit for the Halloween Party. I wanted it to be simple and sweet or I was just going to find something in my closet and throw some things together if that's what had to be done. Lisa and I just decided to go because everyone was talking about it and we didn't have anything better to do.

Plus the boys were kind of coming around again and not so stuck on what happened at that party and the fight that broke out between this and Jace squad.

Damnit. I gave up and made a mental note to go back later and see if I find anything if I didn't find anything in my closet in the dorms. The weather was starting to get chilly but still warm, just how I liked it. Walking back from the clothing store that was down the street from our dorms through the little park I had saw a familiar face sitting there looking as if they were in deep thought.

As I was passing by the person they lowly called my name which made me stop in my tracks. I turned back around seeing that it was Lamonte and I smiled and took a seat next to him.

"Hey," I said as he murmured a 'wassup' back. "I didn't even recognize you, thought you'd like to be alone. You okay?"

He took a deep thought and shrugged. "It's a lot I'm going through, but I have to stay strong for my baby sis, I do what I do for her, and I changed my ways for her and our mama. Ion' like to do much of the venting shit, but I just need someone to talk to sometimes."

I nodded understanding him completely. "Do you want my honest opinion?"

He looked at me and chuckled which made me smile. "Hit me with your best shot, bo."

"Okay, I honestly feel that Bonita is at that age where she feels she should be able to talk to, date, be friends with anyone she wants to be friends with. And I feel like you should let her. We are all going to get hurt one day, it's just your part to help her pick up the pieces back up so she won't get too damaged." I started to go on. "I mean, I grew up with Jace, and when he wants something he changes for that special thing. I feel she could just be that. It's just time to let what happened in high school go and forgive, but don't forget. I don't know the whole story of why y'all beefing, but I feel it's something all of you guys can get over. "

He sighed. "You're right. But it's hard because I've been hurt before and it feels like someone completely ripped out your heart and destroyed it like you never meant anything to them."

"Will you ever get to a point where you want to talk about what hurt you?"

"It's a long story, I don't feel like getting into the details right now. But I had an ex that I was deeply in love with that did some shit to me that I never quite got over yet because I need closure that I'll probably never get because I lost her to the game."

"Game?"

"Drugs." He trailed off. "She was going through a lot of stuff that she really didn't tell me, I didn't notice because she seemed so fine. Then I saw her real side."
