CHAPTER SIX: YOU DON'T KNOW

The days passed, and Angel was still sitting in her room. Some thought she died there out of loneliness. It was true, truth. Angel was sitting on her bed dying of longing for real life. The fact, my parents were not the best, but although they are now sitting in a park there. Angel noticed that she was trapped here like an animal in a cage. She could not leave the loop, and the same day was repeating itself. Earlier, Angel did not think about it negatively, but now she had other thoughts. Other children can grow old, find their love of life, marry him or her, have children and then grandchildren. And Angel will be a teenager forever, she will never grow up. A small tear fell slowly on her blanket. Has anyone thought so? She wanted to change time and stay with her family with Horace and grow up. But then she remembered the beautiful and pleasant moments together with peculiar children. They were really family. If Mrs Peregrine could not find them, they would never met. And these are the best people.

But Angel  had enough of life. She wanted to disappear from this world and in another world to be a normal teenager with a loving family.

Enoch was sitting alone outside, thinking about Angel. Over the last few days it was quiet enough, and even Olive longed for Angel's comments at dinner. Mrs. Peregrine's home was not the same without Angel. Claire and Bronwyn no longer had anybody to play with, Fiona and Hugh completely stopped talking to each other as if only Angel knew how to start a conversation. The twins walked on constantly, something that was difficult to know because they had veiled faces. Millard was  living without life. Apparently, Angel was an important person to him and without her he was without colors. Horace was the worst to endure. But that's not surprising, it's his sister.

Enoch himself was quite quiet. He even stopped teasing Jake. Angel was a very important person to him, and he had no one to live without.

One day he could not stand it anymore. He had to do something about it. He brought her to this state, and he has to fix it. In the evening, Enoch quickly and silently went to the door that would lead him to the world of Angel. He adjusted his hair and felt my hand sweat from his nerves. He coughed several times to remove the bump in his throat, which unknowingly kept him from speaking. After a moment, however, he became confident and knocked three times at the door. At first no one answered, and Enoch began to think that this theory that Angel died may be true. But fortunately he could later hear the girl's silent and tearful voice which apparently tried to stop crying.

- Who's there?

Enoch coughed for the second time, playing with his long fingers unconsciously.

- It's me, Enoch.

For a few seconds there was no answer, as if someone had muted the entire volume. Enoch was afraid that the girl did not want to see him after what he did. Angel, from the other side of the door, was wondering whether to let him in. She did not really have to let him in, just say something. Something that would scare him or something sarcastic like hers, but this time she could not think of anything else to say.

- What do you want?

- I want to talk.

Again, there was no answer for a few seconds, and this time Enoch was afraid of a cold answer to this question. He felt like Olive right now. She could not always be sent to his room and almost always gave her cold answers. Olive felt insecure when she was knocking on the door because she did not know what would happen. Enoch just felt like that. Uncertain.

Suddenly the door opened slowly. Although he did not see anyone, he walked slowly, as though he were afraid of swords of light and a rifle.

The room was bright and white as if it was never dirty. Unlike his room. He was looking for the Angel because he had not seen it. She was not on the bed, she was completely gone. Then he saw her from the back, Angel looking out the window. She did not even turn away when he accidentally stepped on a newspaper. Newspaper from 1943. It was written the same as always, for the war, for discounts and for various sayings that bored everyone.

- All the same. - she said quietly, still looking out the window. Her white dress was dancing in the air, and Enoch thought that Angel looked like she was taken out of the picture.

- What do you mean?-  Enoch asked questioningly, wrinkling the door. Angel turned to look at Enoch as if he was a small child who does not understand anything. Angel's face was pale as her dress, but she had no signs of crying. Her brown eyes that were once happy and full of life were neutral and without any emotions. In general, her whole face was emotionless. Like talking to a corpse.

-  The newspaper is the same as always. Daily. We have the same weather still. I have not touched snow for years. There is no one new  in Cairnholm, because , it will disappear after the night. - she said in a breaking voice that Enoch felt a strange pain. Mental. She told it with such sadness that he could immediately cry. The more that everything she said was true. - None of us will be old, nobody will marry us. We will be constantly teens.

Seeing that Enoch was silent, she continued.

- It's starting to upset me, Enoch. I mean, it's great that we're inseparable, but are not you so eager to get out of here?

- What do you mean? - Enoch finally said, not knowing what this conversation is leading to. Angel inhaled.

- I mean, I don't want such a life. If I leave the loop, I will die, I understand. But there's a another way to say goodbye to this world. - she said in a broken voice, but it was also possible to sense certainty and firmness. Enoch's heart froze at these words. - Tell everyone that I loved them. Millard was the best friend I've ever had in my life, and Horace deserves fame for his fashion thoughts.

Angel was about to open the window to get to the roof when she felt a strong and large hand grabbing her hand. She turned to see the wet face of Enoch.

★・・・・・・★・・・・・・★・・・・・・★

"I'm so tired, sitting here waiting

If I hear one more just be patient

It's always gonna stay the same

So, let me just give up

So, let me just let go

If this is not good for me, well I do not wanna know

Let me just stop trying

Let me just stop fighting

I do not want your good advice or reasons why I'm alright"

★・・・・・・★・・・・・・★・・・・・・★

- Please, do not do it! Need you! I can not deal with losing another person!

- I'm tired of waiting for a different solution, Enoch! Nothing will change here, do you understand?

Angel was about to take her hand from Enoch's embrace, but Enoch tightened his grip so that Angel lost her balance and fell on the bushes. (she survived, because if Uncle Victor survived, then Angel also) You could only hear the screams of children who saw this event.

The cries of Enoch were the worst.
