I didn't get any sleep last night. I was anxious. What did I just do? I knew this was a bad idea and I needed to end it. I headed downtown to find the little hardware store. It was a weekend so luckily no one was in it. I went down the stairs and they let out small creaks.
"Ashton?" I yelled, but still trying to be as quiet as possible just in case.
"Mel?" Ashton questioned. I spotted him in the corner of the room fidgeting with something in his hands. Ashton shot up and ran over to me with a big smile on his face.
"Look what I found Mel!" Ashton cheered. He turned the object over so I could see it. It had the words 'Nikon' plastered in white letters on the front.
"It's a camera!" Ashton cheered again. I couldn't help but laugh at how excited he was. Ashton sat on the ground and patted the floor next to him, gesturing for me to sit.
"Smile Mel!" Ashton said and pointed the camera at me. I tried covering up the lens but he took the picture anyway.
"Aw that's no fun Melanie!" Ashton whined. I looked up into his big hazel eyes and just smiled completely forget why I came here.
"Ashton, I -" I started to speak but for some reason I couldn't continue. Ashton took hold of my hands and warmth spread throughout my body.
"What's wrong Mel?" Ashton asked concerned. Everything in my mind told me to leave, right now but something in my heart said to keep holding on.
"It's nothing" I answered giving him a reassuring smile. I felt Ashton lips on my forehead then he moved his way down to my mouth. How could I fall in love with a criminal?

ASHTON'S P.O.V
I was starting to fall for Melanie and I knew it. Everything about her was perfect to me. Her eyes, her hair, her smile, her laugh. I know it sounds lame but it felt like fate. I wondered if I would've ever met her if she took the front exit that day at the jail. Probably not. She wouldn't even know I existed. But know here we were, together, in the basement of a hardware store. Itwas a dangerous game, but I was willing to play.
