     "I can't transmorph, Lacie. We're stuck."

"Naw," Lacie said. "Just use your needles."

      "I can't, they were confiscated." I said.

"Fine" she said. She walked up to me, raised her shackled hands, and swung them down hard. The shackles broke open.

"Why didn't you get the rubber bands?" I asked. "Because I'm not a witch." she said. "Yes you are. You literally have a tome in your pocket." I said.

"Oh, this?" she said raising her tome. "This is just a book."

She pointed to the door and shouted "Ignis!" She must have been training, because she actually hit the door, which burst into flames. "There we go. We'll just have to wait till later to break your new jewelry." she said.

"Why didn't they take that from you?" I asked.

"Maybe pockets haven't been invented yet." she said. Then she strolled out the door and I followed.

There weren't that many guards. The only ones we encountered got hit on the head with whatever convenient items we could find. A lamp, a gold vase, a roasted turkey in the dining hall. All of which made the guards pass out. We looked everywhere for the treasury where my weapon surely would be, but we couldn't find it anywhere. After an hour of searching, Lacie said

"That's it! I quit! We'll just have to get you a new weapon." she eyed an armored statue as if wondering when it would reveal that it was actually a knight. Then, she leapt onto its pedestal and tugged at its sword. "Here, use this!" she said thrusting it into my hands.

"I don't want it! think how many people have died from this blade." I said dropping it.

"Fine, I'll have it." she said strapping it to her waist."Lacie the great!" she said posing.

      "No," I said. "Just no."

We continued on to a dead end where a small hatch was on the ground.

"This looks promising." Lacie said. We opened the hatch and crawled down. Inside we found a large chamber filled with mountains of gold cups, coins, and various weapons.

"Here it is!" Lacie said. at the end of the room. "Wait!" I said. "There might be-" Too late. She grabbed the needles and the whole room shook. Spikes fell from the ceiling, fire shot from the walls, snakes slithered from holes in the ground. And we ran. "Told you so!" I shouted, grabbing as much gold as possible.

"How was I supposed to know?!"she shouted back. We raced up the hatch and ran back to the safest place we knew: the dungeon. We stole a door from one of the other rooms and put it on ours. We hid the treasure and put our restraints back on. I heard a guard running up and so we pretended to sleep.

"Oi! You lot what's goin' on in dere!?" he shouted.

"Huh? What?" I said pretending to wake up.

"Didn't you hear? There was a rumbling noise coming from up here" he said.

"Probably just your stomach" I said.

"Well, maybe." he looked down, then ran away.

"Well," Lacie said, "That went well."
