Chapter 4

(Lucy's POV)

I go to the nearest hospital to register "Welcome Ma'am when are you expecting?" Asked the nurse at the desk "Umm July 15?" "Oh 3 weeks from now! Please fill this out" she hands me a pink paper and a pen I fill in the first part and I hesitate at "Fill in the fathers name" I quickly scribble Natsu's name and fill in the rest of the first paper, I turn the paper on the other side and fill in the questions and I freeze at the second question "Will the father be present for the birth?" "Will the father raise the child?" I put a check next to the choice "No" and quickly finish it and hand it back back to the nurse, she put the paper in a folder under my name. "Are you here for an Ultra Sound?" 'Why not' I think "Yes" "go to the left and the room 362" "Okay Thanks" I slowly walk to the room and knock on the door "come in" I step inside and look around and see a nice lady in her 40's motioning me to lay day on the bed "How are you dear?" "I'm fine but a little queasy" the woman gives a little chuckle "it's normal for pregnant women" she looks down at her clipboard as she reads my information "So Ms.Lucy does Natsu Dragneel know about the child?" I shake my head as I feel tears in my eyes she notices "Okay let's start" she said as I lifted my shirt to expose my huge belly she puts a cold gel and gets the machine and starts it, she checks the monitor for a clear picture and then smiles "congratulation miss your having twins!" "T-twins?" I repeat shocked "yes and one of them is a boy and the other is a girl. They are in good condition dear so no worries" she prints out the pictures and hands them to me, I thank her and quickly leave to Maddy, "Maddy!" I shout across the restaurant she hurries to my side and helps me into a chair "Lucy are you okay? What happened" I hand her the ultra sound pictures and she gasps "O my Lucy twins! Congrats this is so exciting" she jumps then she notices my worried expression "How can I raise them all alone?" I sob "Lucy don't cry I will help you raise them and don't worry about money your savings and the money from your books are more than enough to support you all" I look up and wipe my tears and nod "Now go rest, you have tomorrow off" I nod and quickly rush to my apartment 'I can't believe this' I look down on my stomach "two little lives I have to protect....without Natsu" 'I can do it and I will raise them as best as I can' I think to myself as I pace my living room "I have to get the nursery ready" I go out and buy two cribs and a few outfits for the baby girl and boy and I walk back home.

(Gray's POV)

It's been a week since that incident with Lisanna and Natsu is still ignoring her as she desperately tries to get him to love her 'she reminds me with Juvia but Juvia's is way better' I think as I watch Lisanna pull on Natsu's shirt and he just brush her away "another drink over here Mira" I say as mirajane comes back with another cup "you like coffee don't you Gray?" she had said something wrong, I don't think she deserves him" she says quietly I gulp the coffee down and meet up with Erza "hey ready to go?" "Yeah" Natsu joins in and we go off to another job "Natsu what are going to do about Lisanna?" "Nothing she will learn her place sooner or later I told her that I have no intentions in marrying her but gosh this is annoying!" "Let's not talk about this anymore okay guys?" Said Erza and after a day we finished our mission.

(Lucy's POV)

I get ready for bed and flip around a bit then slowly close my eyes. I wake up a two hours later as sweat dropped from my forehead and my stomach hurt 'oh no they are coming! It's a week early' I panicked and cringed in pain as I summoned Loke "Hello Lucy long time no see-" his eyes widen "you're preg-" "get me to the hospital fast! LOKE!" He picks me up and dashes out of the building and across the city "hurry!" I grab a handful of his suit and groan loudly, before I knew it he puts me on a hospital bed and it starts moving while nurses rush beside it "Loke....Get Maddy!" I manage and he runs off, the nurses transport me into a different bed and get me ready as Maddy rushed in "Lucy!" she stands beside me and holds my hand. Loke was standing on the side looking nervous while everything happened. After two long painful hours I hear small cries and the nurse puts two wiggling infants on my lap I start crying as I see my own children struggle in my arms, Maddy and Loke both lean close to me "they are beautiful" whispers Maddy "I'll beat up Natsu for this" says Loke and I giggle a bit then Maddy takes some pictures and the nurse approach me "What will you name them miss?" I pause for a while "Lune and Luna Heartifillia" I say smiling then she gives me their birth certificates "my times up Princess, I tell everyone about this" Loke smiles then disappears "I can't wait to tell everyone! This is so exciting" "Yeah but what about work?" "Don't worry I'll talk to dad and I'm sure he'll give you a vacation" "Maddy you're a lifesaver" she smiles "Can I hold them?" "Sure" I carefully hand Lune and Luna to her "About the pictures can you print them for me?" "Anything for you" she smiles as she rocks the infants to sleep. I spend the next five days with almost no sleep as I took care of each child, I finally put both of them to bed and I take out one of the pictures that Maddy took and take out an envelope and a piece of paper I write a letter to Levy and Wendy and attach the picture to it "july 8" it said at the bottom of the picture and send it 'if only you were here with us' I think of Natsu and fall asleep on my desk.
