"Hey Lou, where are you?" I called Louis as I spin in my father's chair.

"I'm at uni babe, what's up?"

"Louis, it's called college not uni here. Brits." I muttered earning a chuckle from him.

"You seem chirpy. What's up?"

"Are you busy?"

"I'm actually just accompanying Lottie. I can get off anytime."

"Meet me in that café we like in an hour, how's that sound?"

"That sounds great. See you love." And with that he hung up, his British accent hanging to the air.

"Excited?" My dad laughed as he goes over for his reports. He occasionally rubs his temples, an action he does when he's stressed. I snatch some of the papers and go over the accounting for the company, my eyebrows furrowing as I do so.

"Who handles your accounts? They're an idiot." I mumbled as my hands flip over the pages.

"That's just the draft dear; the final statements are soft copy."

"Can I tell you my opinion dad?" I asked him in which he nodded vigorously, desperate for my judgment. "I think you should drop the Portland building. They're making no progress and I'm sure by the end of the year, the building will be bankrupt and that will take a huge toll on the company."

"You really think so?"

I nodded, "I told you from the start that it was a bad idea expanding there, yeah? Whoever told you to expand there is an idiot. I don't even know why these numbers are so terrible. What could they possibly be doing for these numbers to drop so low?"

"I would really appreciate it if you go down there with me Louise."

"Sure dad, just schedule an appointment. I'll make time for you; just give me a heads up."

My dad nodded and stood up from his seat, making his way towards me and kissing my forehead briefly. "I'm proud of you, you know that?"

I just smiled and went back to checking the reports given to him. So far everything is good except for the Portland building. I was glad I was helping my dad; it was a good practice if Morgensen Inc. was going to be passed on to me earlier.

"Well dad, I'm off to meet Lou." I smiled while standing up and straightening my dress.

"Okay, call me Louise. And Jay wants us over for dinner at their house. I still don't know why you moved out and left your old man." My dad playfully scolded.

"Dad, don't you like me being a strong independent woman?" I joked while hugging him. "Besides, you'll have Jay and the girls with you in the house soon."

"Yes, I know that but it's still different having my own daughter with me."

"Then make some with Jay!" I laughed before waving him goodbye.

"Don't forget the party later tonight!"

My feet padded against the black marbled floor as I exit my dad's floor, instantly feeling better of the news that was handed to me. My eyes went to the three people I just indirectly fired and my mouth instantaneously curved up into a smirk at the sight of them cramming on work they are yet to finish until tomorrow.

Suddenly, I regretted not bringing my car with me and having to walk to the café we were supposed to meet in. I caught a glimpse of Lorenzo, my bodyguard, at the entrance of the building and I smiled, grateful that he has grazed me the presence of him and the car.
