Work was a drag and I wanted nothing more than to go back home where I left a sleeping bunch of boys in my house to go in for work.
I was supposed to go to Florida today but I overslept, causing Hannah to reschedule.
Telling myself that I need to stop slumping, I got out of my chair and grabbed mails that were waiting to be opened. It was the usual day for me and after spending a whole week on vacation, I now crave it.
"Miss?" Polly knocked on my door with a grin on her face.
"Yes?" I sighed heavily as to why her mood was a whole 100 percent contrast to mine.
"Someone gave you this." She smiled as she revealed her hands which held a beautiful bouquet of peonies.
I shook my head with a smile, thinking how Harry seems to sense that I am in a bad mood and went to turn it around without even knowing it.
My hands retrieved the card from the flowers, readying myself to the probably lame pun that was inside the card.
But the writing inside made me drop the flowers in shock and fury as I ripped the cards to shred.
I'll see you soon, sweetheart. –Nathan S.
How dare he come waltzing back into my life? I called out for Hannah, my aggravation present in my voice.
Seconds later, she stood infront of me, a scared expression on her face as she fiddled with the hem of her blouse.
"Burn these." I shoved the flowers in her hands roughly. "And burn everything that comes from Nathaniel Stewart!"
Hannah mumbled a yes as she left my office swiftly. I was still heaving in anger as I stared at the petals of peonies that fell off at the impact of the fall.
A ding on my computer brought me back from my episode and I leaned down on my computer to see who it was.
"Hello, Louise, miss me? I'm in town and I'll see you, just like old times. ;) –T"
Are the ghosts of the past scheduled to come out today?
I screamed in anger and threw everything away from my desk, not caring about the consequences of what I just did.
I shoved all of my things in my bag, deciding I don't want to be here anymore as I was craving something to drink.
My head was spinning in anger; all of the emotions I have kept bottled up was bubbling through the surface and now was spilling all over.
I slammed the door of my office as I left it, pushing Hannah's door wide open as I bark out my command.
"Cancel today's meeting. I'm going home." I grumbled and left without even bothering to hear her reply.
I drove hastily to my house, honking furiously at stupid and slow drivers. My feelings were on overdrive and not in a good day.
My foot tapped anxiously as I wait for the elevator to get to my floor.
As I entered my house, thankfully, no one was around, the boys have seemed to have already left, so I made a beeline to the cupboard where the liquors where I kept.
I shoved through bottles and bottles before I saw the bold VODKA word. Not bothering to get a glass, I unscrewed the lid and tilted the bottle up. I didn't stop chugging on the bottle until it was almost halfway empty.
The burning sensation already left my throat and I could already feel my head going dizzy.
Somehow I managed to make way to my art room and I grabbed a blank canvas. My right hand stroked the brush roughly, making bold lines. I didn't know what I was painting but damn, it felt so good to have the brush by my right hand and the vodka bottle on my right.
