I found my class, few rooms down the corridor.

Pushing open the door, I felt like I was going to have a panic attack anytime. Maybe I would just collapse and made a laughing stock as the new girl who fainted on her first day at Witchery High. Sorry I tended to conjure wickedly funny stuff in my mind.

Hooray, there was only one nerd looking girl with red frizzy hair sitting in the front, and another headphone guy by the windows. Both did not look up from what they were doing. This must be my lucky day.

Clearing my throat, I walked up to the teacher who was sitting down at his desk, waiting for me to acknowledge his presence.

He must have sensed my nervousness, coz he gave me a wide smile showing his teeth.

''Hi you must be miss lockheart. I'm your biology teacher, Mr Smith.''

I coughed to cover the giggle attempting to escape from my mouth. Who would have such a random name in this era? Mr Smith was my own imaginary English old man who occasionally appeared on my essays, when I ran out of characters names.

Though he did indeed look like a warm fuzzy old English man, except for his accent.

''Take a seat, the class is coming in soon.''

I quickly scanned the empty seats, and strategically chose the seat by the side, nearest to the doors. It gave me the fake assurance I could make an escape anytime I want.

Students began filling into the class, and I was too painfully aware of the looks and whispers they were giving me. I had to get through this, I told myself. They were just curious about the new girl, who wouldn't?

I heard a few wolf whistles, and I didnt dare look up from the notebook I was clutching on tightly on the desk. I brushed it away, teasings from immature boys, I told myself.

Soon, even the seats around me were also taken and the bell rang. I loosened up slightly.

''Okay class, we have a new student today, Miss Tasha Lockheart. Miss Lockheart, would you please stand up and tell the class a little something about yourself.''

I expected this, and I came prepared with a short speech. But still, I was nervous as hell and blushing like crazy. The whole class waited in silence.

''Erm, hi everyone, I'm Tasha Lockheart, and I'm from Alabama. This is my first week in Vale Springs and besides my parents, I have an older sister who is staying in New York. I have a dog named Louie and he's a ball of brown furry cute stuff.'' Crap!! Why did I babble?! They must think I'm the weird new girl who couldn't keep her mouth shut.

A few chuckles from the guys.

''Alright, alright. Now take out your textbook and flip to chapter 6, thank you miss Lockheart, you may sit down.''

I wiped the cold sweat on my palms when no one was looking. Phew, I could get through this. No one was going to eat me, relax Tasha. What's the worse that could have happened? You would still live to see tomorrow.

Looking at my watch, I mentally counted the seconds before the bell went off. ''Ring.......''

Cool, in another record breaking seconds I packed my stuff into my bag and was out of the classroom before anyone could talk to me. Not that anyone would anyway, I kept my head and gaze so straight at the board in front one might think I was oblivious to anything but what the teacher was teaching.

I zoned out. I decided to give myself a break in class since the first day jitters was working it's charms on me. I was usually a good student who focused in class.
