Charlie's Hero

Seth picked me up and we drove out.

"How are you?" He asked.

"Still upset. I mean, you never get over your first love, right?" I asked.

He shook his head, "Maybe not, but you'll find someone else."

"I doubt it'll be anytime soon." I said.

"Why? You're awesome. Anyone who doesn't see that is a loser." He said.

"Thanks Seth." I said.

My phone rang. I looked down and sighed.

"Dean again?" He asked.

"He's been calling me nonstop." I said.

"He didn't even go to sleep last night. He just waited by his phone to see if you'd ever call him back." Seth said. "I barely talked to him though. He said he had an explanation, but I didn't wait around to hear it. I was just disgusted that he could hurt you like that." He said.

I silenced my phone and stuffed it back in my bag. "So....where are we going?" I asked.

"I don't know. I was thinking we grab lunch and go see a movie." He said.

I nodded, "Sounds good." I said.

Seth and I had a nice lunch and then went to a movie. We had a great time. Unfortunately, all good times have to end sometime.

"I had a really awesome time today." I said.

"Me too, kid." Seth said.

"Thanks Seth."

"For?" He asked.

"Being there for me." I said.

He smiled, "You'll always have me, sweetheart." He said.

I smiled. At least I knew Seth would never turn his back on me.

We hung out for the rest of the day and got back to the hotel around 10 pm. He walked me to my room. I was rooming with AJ and Tamina tonight.

"So, anytime you needa talk, I'm here." He said.

I smiled, "Thanks." I said. "You're a great friend, Seth."

He nodded. I saw him getting closer and closer to me until he gently placed his lips on mine. I pulled away instantly.

"Seth, I..."

"Sorry." He quickly said, "I shouldn't have done that. I'm sorry." He said.

"I don't mean to be rude or anything....it's just that..."

"You're not ready for this. I totally get it. I wasn't thinking. Sorry." He said.

I nodded, "It's okay." I said, "See you later."

He walked away and left me standing there.....confused.
