Chapter 10: Kidnapped

Even though I was blindfolded, I could tell it was the Alex who chatted with me a few days ago. You don't forget the voice of someone who complemented you so suddenly. So randomly. But I guessed it wasn't as random as I first thought. Then again, I would probably remember his voice as my abductor now.

And maybe my murderer. Maybe.

Something hit my face, something I could only identify as some sort of stick. Or a weapon, in my case. "Are you awake yet?" a voice impatiently said. Alex. If that was even his real name. I pretended to still be asleep. I went as far as to stop my abnormally loud breathing. "I know you're awake you know, I saw you move a second ago."

"Your real name is Alex, right?" There was no use in pretending since he already knew.

"Oh," I could hear surprise in his voice, "you remembered me."

"Where's the girl?" I asked, a plan forming in my head on how to get the unfortunate girl who got caught up in this and me out of here. As soon as possible. Soon, there would be questions about my whereabouts. My parents didn't need the extra trouble, they already had enough on their minds.

He scoffed, "There's no need for you to know."

"I need to know," I said as fiercely as I possibly could.

"No, you don't."

"Is there something you need?" Maybe I could get the information I need in exchange for what he wanted. And find out why I'm his hostage in the first place.

"As a matter of fact, yes, there is." He sounded amused for some strange reason.

"What?" I was not surprised. Most people don't just kidnap others for their own amusement or for the fun of it. Unless they're purely evil and I know he's not just plain evil. Something happened to make him this way.

"You'll see, we're waiting for someone to be exact."

"So I'm bait?"

"Basically." Who? Who would come for me? I was guessing someone of importance if Alex wanted whoever it was that badly. So either Adam or Derek.

"Wait for who?" I started panicking. Derek I wouldn't have to worry about, I doubt he's the one who's coming. I was panicking for Adam, he was not one to leave someone in danger.

He started to get annoyed, "I said you'll see."

"But I won't be able to see, I have a blindfold on remember?"

"That's not the point."

"Then can you take it off?" I said in my most innocent voice. Being able to see again was definitely a bonus for me. If I could trick him to removing it. But I suspect he's not the type of person to be swayed that easily.

"Stop talking!" he shouted angrily.

I knew I'll be digging my grave if I continue any further so I kept my mouth shut. So far, nothing was going my way, I've got nothing out of him. My only hope was that I escape from him, find the little kid as quickly as possible, and then escape before Adam comes.

On the other hand, my first step of my plan was proving to be close to impossible to achieve. Why? Because a) my wrists were still tied, however now it's tied me to a pole, b) my legs are tied up too, but not to the pole, c) I was tightly blindfolded, and d) he recently just proved to have a weapon in hand. Definitely not my best day.

This was hopeless, yet I had to at least try. I'll regret it forever if I did nothing. Besides, he didn't seem to want to harm me in any way.

"Where's the child?" I tried again.
